Brzezinski is truly one of the worst of those Bilderberger/NWO linchpins.
    Seriously evil.

What a liar. Telling them they'll go back to their homes.

Then supporting America's invasion - if not one of the architects of it behind the scenes, later history may reveal - so that these poor Afghans can NOT return to their homes, due to their destruction by .... America this time!

Funny I was just looking at a Ronald Reagan commemorative stamp to be issued early this year for the 100th anniversary of his birth.

While I think he was maybe the only good US President this century, he still fell far short of what he could have been probably.

Why else did he get Alzheimer's after his Presidency?
I believe that 'disease of the brain' is actually a judgment of God on people who did not completely do what they were supposed to have.

He had the best opportunity in the world to make a difference. He did, in standing up to Soviet Communism.
But there was a lot too that he did not handle correctly.

I think he was sincere about caring about the Afghans.

Funny thing though: if he cared THAT much, why all this supposed "need for secrecy"?

If it had been I, I would sent American troops over to combat the Soviets.
    Why use the Afghans?

If intentions were pure then why all the terribly obvious to everyone "covert operations" to arm Mujahideen ? I think it was done really in a silly and not really committed way.

Had Reagan put AMERICAN troops stationed around Afghanistan, then he would made an impression. The Soviets may have backed out a lot earlier.

Instead, the only time the US is brave enough to send its own forces over there is when

--the coast is clear - no Soviets anywhere near

--the diplomatic cost is nil [in terms of Soviet/russian protest and international outcry, since by 2001, America reigned indisputably supreme. No one could say boo to any American action. Not so back then.]

--as the video says, greed for resources prevailed over any common sense or international propriety [one doesn't just go take over a country for the flimsiest of reasons, and stay there too for nearly a decade !]

Brzezinkski is right on one thing and that is the following:

YouTube - CFR Meeting: Zbigniew Brzezinski Fears The Global Awakening
O'faithful hearken thy vezir, for he promises them another Gandamak and for the ancestors of Hari Nalwa a similar fate has been sealed. We shall shake the foundations of their inner sanctums, written in gold and immortal will remain this endeavor of Afghans.

It has been known that the Americans wanted the soviets to invade afghanistan to trap them in a quagmire. Aftger Vietnam Kissenger came up with the plan to make afghanistan unstable and trick the russians into making them beleive the US will build a base in Bagram forcing the russians to invade resulting in the death of 2 million afghans. And the americans say they are a force of good in the world.

            ^ I'm not sure I agree with khushal's analysis.
Why wouldn't they have picked another country ?

Russia was slowly creeping southward, taking over the Khanates of Central Asia one at a time in the late 1800s.

It wanted Afghanistan too - remember that incident on the Turkmenistan/Afghanistan border? What the name of the town they briefly occupied or something, setting England into conniptions of fear for their Empire?

The upheaval of the Russian Revolution turned away Moscow's attention from Afghanistan. But Russians have LONG MEMORIES. They never forget or give up their aims [ unlike Americans who tend toward collective ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder, meaning mentally here today, gone tomorrow].

I'm sure it was not a trick from the US. The US isn't that smart or devious to plan such a thing.

I think the Soviets were power-hungry, maybe their agents told them privately about the mineral reserves in Afghanistan.

Russia has ALWAYS been GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY for MORE. No matter how much they have already, they were never satisfied, and schemed for MORE.
Whether Tsarists or Communist [aka "Evil" ] Empires.

Regarding the video, yes, he really knows what's going on.
No one says he is not intelligent.

Incredible that he predicted the part about the files on each US citizen back in 1970!

Or....has he been behind part of this Big Govt scheme all this time and thus knew their agenda? Or, was a driving power behind realizing it?

Or in his book, he made a "lucky guess" ?

There is no such thing as a "lucky guess" in generation-based policies. The man is a political genius and is neck deep.

                  Oh, definitely!

It's remarkable that he wrote what may have been a blueprint for future Power Elite operations back SO FAR!

Also I'm quite amazed that his address was filmed and put on Youtube.
Wonder if it was a lapse in security.

Seeing Reagan show concern for Afghans whose lives had been shattered by the Soviet occupation is breathtaking, considering which govt. has repeated all the same and sometimes WORSE indignities like aggressive dog and night searches.

Why isn't THIS being replayed by all the major media to underline the ironies of American political-military decision making?

National interest is more important than human life.

                      Catye sher,
You think the Americans are stupid, you have got to be kidding me. This country attracts all the brightest in the world. Zbigniew was born in Warsaw Poland, the same place the Warsaw Pact was born. And he was one the master planners of bringing the Warsaw Pact gang down.
