  • Speaking evil of other Pashtun tribes

As salaamu aleikoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

I've met Pashtuns from all regions. I know at least one member of all the major tribes.

And ALL tribes have something evil to say about some other tribe.

If you go to Paktia, most tribes men have something very nasty and evil to say about other tribes. And certain tribes are always described as such and so.

What is the most disturbing part of this evil and nasty habit among Pashtuns is, that educated people who behave like they have been enlightened because they hold some sort of a degree often speaking very evil of other tribes.

How come people can't get rid of this evil habit?

It doesnt matter if neighbour to my house is a pashtun, if he good person i will praise him, if he is bad person i will speak ill of him.
apply my above example on case of pashtun tribes.

I have read the history of many pashtun tribes, almost all were engaged in fighting and killing each other all the time so the problem is deep-rooted and is related to past.

I agree that yes there are some instances.
In my experience, in Pakistan, Pushtuns dont do this. I mean to say that it is very rare.

I've heard only a few bad things though I have traveled to almost all parts.

In all cases, it is usually because of non awareness about Islam and Pushtunwali mixed with a bit of gossip and afwahs.

But I havent felt it to be anything serious or major, which is a good thing IMO.

Actually, the problem is just as bad, if not worse in Pashtunkhwa as it is on our side of Durrand line. My Afridi friends, the Kuki khel and Kumbarkhel and Sepah, they could not stop talking rubbish about each other in UK.

Then, if a loser would do something stupid, they would say: "Oh! He is not an Afridi. He is actually Wazir".

And then all of them other people, Yousefzais, Safis and Afridis would say Khattak are immoral.

And so on and so on.

And usually, they would say such thing about teach other not for a good reason. But just because it is custom to speak evil of other tribes.

For a while, when I was with tribal Pashtuns day and night, I started to hate them. I assumed, when I was gone, they would say: "Oh this Ahmadzai dude. He is such and so". And they probably did.

Now I don't think this is something of unity or disunity. It's just a very bad custom. A bad habit.

Yeah maybe, but it isnt a serious thing.

Not as serious as say the rift between Pushtuns and Muhajirs.

                      Punjabis and others.

Those are the real nasty ones.

Though in the Pushtun Muhajir case, honestly, the Muhajirs are doing the injustice/ zulm.

Puhstuns have always respected them, since great people like Mufti taqi Usmani and others great Ulema and many others such as Quaid were Muhajirs.

but according to many people, quaid was not even a Muslim,he was a Ismaili which are reconised as not being Muslim.

I think for once in a long while, Amanullah did say something we should debate. I am going to start a new debate.

                              and as always.......

it is going to be one sided with only references that suite Mr Sangar.

A real debate listens to all the sides, all the viewpoints all the facts Mr Sangar.

Not just those that suite ones self.
