    Salaam all.

Mini documentaries/songs about the lives of our women and girls in the villages, by Samar Minallah.

(Both contain music so those who don't wanna hear can always mute.)

YouTube - Bibi Shireenay---Where Honor Comes From by Samar Minallah
It kinda made me sad, (and the shrine bit both confused and saddened me).

    And for our beautiful daughters...

YouTube - Allaho--A lullaby for you my daughter! by Samar Minallah
I love the how the little girl refuses to give up her hat.

It's a pakhto/dari lullaby sung by Naghma, and was filmed in Kabul, Bagram, Khyber and Swat.

There are one or two fully pakhto versions of the lullaby, but not by Naghma.

Village like is very hard, especially on women. I would know, i am from a village. Laghman is only village like, when i was there, i witnessed and experienced how hard it really is living there.

For one, you honestly do not have proper bathrooms.
Second, refrigerators do not exist! lol

House chores are very difficult on women. Early in the morning, women wake up to start the day. They clean the house completely. They go and fetch water from the wells.

When i was in Laghman, i wanted to experience it all. So i helped around. After Fajr, i would go with the ladies to get water. And you get pots and pots of water. So you have to go back and forth at least 5 times. And I learned how to carry it on my head, it was quite hard lol. It fell once, so i had to go back and get more water.

Women wash clothes about 4 times a day, and they wash everyones clothes. What we do, is go by the stream that runs through the village, we lay out the clothes on the ground, then start scrubbing it with homemade soap. I had to scrub over and over, it was very tiring. And you are out, in the hot weather, doing this like 4-6 times a day.

In the first video, it reminded me of Laghman.

We would sleep on those beds outside.

Beautiful, what luxury we have here, and makes me homesick for my sisters in Pakistan.
