Let me be blunt on this. You did enjoy s_x with some desi girls, but by doing that how did you uphold the honour (Ghairat) of your community? Your statement is clear indication of your male chauvinist behaviour. You are one of those people who still believe that women are asset and by sleeping with some girl of other community you can dishonour that community and uphold honour of your community.

Hi people, let me also comment. The adjectives the Desis(i.e., Pakis) associate with us are not out of contempt but also due to jealousy. Pashtuns have this image of a warrior people that have stood throughout history for their liberty/freedom and have been admired for their dignity and self-respect even by their adversaries (see Rudyard Kippling, etc.). Moreover, despite their small numbers, they have played a significant role in the history of Central and South Asia. This coupled with the fair-skin fetish (Desi i.e., Paki people are very conscious of it although you would seldom find Pashtuns talking about it) leaves a ping of jealousy in Desis.

There are other factors involved as well. Almost every Desi (in particular Punjabis and Karachites ) looks for some foreign ancestral roots and would link himself to Arab, Pashtun, Persian, etc. Desis don't take much pride in their history and want to disown their Indian past. The consciouness of they being Indians while Pashtuns non-Indians adds to their jealousy (although Indian Civilization is one of the great civilizations in existance today and one should feel pride in belonging to it).

Then there is also politics e.g., Pashtuns have a strong sense of identity. The problem for the Desi cultural elite is how to make Pashtuns feel low about their culture and so make them amenable to integrate into the Paki cultural mould. The same is also the case with Sikhs in India who are considered to be resistant to integration into the Indian identity and who therefore are at the receiving end of a political conflict.

But guys, why don't you take into consideration the steroetypes Pashtuns have of others, which they have maintained throughout history e.g., that the Desis are kind of low people not strong, upright, or steadfast, etc. and are overly pacifistic, subservient, etc. (the views warrior people usually hold of non-warrior people) .

Nevertheless, one thing that I will like to mention is that despite Pashtuns fought wars throughout their recorded history while Desis bowed to every master either coming from south or north, they have a pretty good level of education and skill almost matching Desis. Isn't it a big achievement.

Last I agree with Tor Khan that we, Pashtuns sholud have our own image of ourselves and should not look at ourselves through foreign goggles.

i have lived in many cultures and have heard only greatness of pashtun. even the indian speak very high of us with great respect. the most negative comments i have heard is from pakistanies even so called pathans have no repect for pashtuns speak very low of us.
