I don't know whether any one of you, have come across this taditional dish, so poular in Mandanr Yousafzais. It is a big earthen bowl, having chicken curry with broken and soaked loaf of bread with over soaking of a small bowl of Desi Ghee ( Koranee ghwaree). This dish is still popular in Mandanr sub tribe of the Yousafzais.It is like the " suhbat" of Banochi, but in vogue much earlier than than that. the chicken pieces are served afterwards according to the stats of the participants by a Mashar. By the way Kalo Khan is a village in Swabi District, named after Kalo Khan the Popular Malak of Mandanr, Yousafzais.

shadow caster! Kalokhane taale has been named after Kalo Khan village. Kalo khan is a historical village in Tappa Razar of Mandanr Yousafzai in District Swabi, named after Malak Kalo Khan. Swabi has another historical village Shah Mansur, which was named after Malak Shah Mansur, a cousin of Yousafzai chieftain Malak Ahmad Khan. Malak Ahmad Khan led the exodus of Yousafzais from Kabul after the carnage of Mirza Ulugh Beg, the uncle of Moghal Babar.It is the same Malak Shah Mansur whose daughter, Bibi Mubaraka was married to emporer Babar as a political settlement between Moghals and Yousafzais. Another historical place Gaju Khan Derai is situated near Shah Mansur village, which was named after another towering malak of the Yousafzais, Malak Gaju Khan.

These are cooking pot, called Katawa with a lid of Khanakay.Katawa is a traditional dish in Swabi as discussed by shehram.

We have similar dish in Swat too.

Because we are cousins. You are the decendents of Yousaf and we of his brother Umar. The later are Mandanr Yousafzais. Yousaf married the widow of his brother Umer, who had a sibling from Umer, and hence they are collectively called as Yousafzais.
