They say a lot about her character, including the one I consider most important: as a woman, she has NO voice of her own; she has no guts to stand up and tell her directors, "I REFUSE to sing such meaningless songs and/or have such cheap girls dancing in my videos. But she and her likes don't have to represent Pashto music in general. Why should they?
If you're singing to men and they're staring at you like a headless doll, which many of our singers unfortunately happen to be, and are perhaps fantasizing about you every chance they get, then obviously you have no respect for yourself. But this isn't about such singers. This is about singers and music in general.
One way we could solve this is by having RESPECTABLE female entering the music industry. Have more professionals who are fully aware of our culture and who practice it and are very proud of it go into singing and playing musical instruments.
So, I disagree that Sangar made any good point about singing. He doesn't think about the idea of self-respect; if he has any idea about it, it's too narrow, too limited to be entertained. I mean, who said that a woman who has a beautiful voice would sing to others but not teach her kids how to read? Sure she can, and sure most do, if they know how to read themselves. But I find nothing wrong with women's singing as long as men sing as well.
