In this thread you may ask our respect graan masahar Abdul Haq questions related to Afghanistan since unlike you guys he is in Kandahar at this very moment.

Thank you brother, I think I don’t deserve that.

Yes you are absolutely right. I live in Kandahar great city of Ahmad Shah Baba.

As far as related to situation in Kandahar I would like to start from your first question.
Yes Taliban Exist in the far remote areas of the province and around the city. Majority of districts of the province are under Taliban control except districts center s where the government is ruling. People in areas don’t have any sense that they have an elected government, however, the city is in full control of government and foreign forces.
As we know that insecurity is the prior major obstacle toward development in Afghanistan and Kandahar is not an exception. There is a huge operation at the vicinity of the city. Every day and night there are sounds of massive explosions and bombardments, which has scared the residents of the city. Night raids, assassinations and killings are miseries Kandahar people ordinary suffer from. Despite all these melancholies, Kandahar agriculture production is expected to do much for the people. This year Kandahar pomegranate production which has the world class quality is expected to increase by 40 percent. Last year pomegranate cultivation was strongly hit by diseases that its production fell by 50 percent and did not make to satisfy the farmers. This year the farmers are given anti plant disease drugs.
On the contrary, grapes production seems to be lower than last year due to bombardments that has put negative impact on lands. Watermelon and melon production is also on rise. Farmers are happy that the new trade and transport contract between Pakistan and Afghanistan will facilitate to take their stocks to international markets especially to India.
The city is growing much despite insecurity. Major roads and foot paths have been reconstructed and municipality is working on the project to establish mineral water supply canal in the city. Some of the towns build illegally are destroyed by the municipality and this process is on.

Weather in the province is better these days and the people enjoy this Holy Ramadan with fresh fruits and fertile season.
The major setback of the province as we all know is insecurity. People assume that as the biggest obstacle towards development of the province.

Unfortunately we dont have such figure in our political leaders now that we expect to work and serve our nation, but the only hope is our Young generation jioning politics. these days we see a sensitive movement among youths that can eventually pave the way for a CHANGE.

As abdul haq has mentioned there is lack of educated, capable and sincere individuals in Afghanistan.
The afghanistan is in dire need of you people not US, canada, UK etc. Pack your luggages and return back and give your services according to your capabilities.

We spoke to someone, I believe, yesterday in Kandahar, and she said it was extremely hot, as if you were pouring tubs of hot water on yourself whatever time of day it was.

              Abdul Haq Khaana,

are the Taliban still in Malajat and Arghandaab or have they progressed to the city? How are the chances of them taking over the city? Is it possible, is there even anyone fighting against them? If so, who? As far as it seems, the troops are supporting the Talibans operations, aren't they?

Education is very weak in Kandahar for it as the second largest city of Afghanistan, there are sufficient number of schools and just a single university. But Citizen complain of unprofessional teachers and lecturers
Good news it that the first private university is soon to be established in Kandahar by our own Family.

Yes there are, Malajat and arghandab are recognized as the strongholds of Taliban, but due large number of ANA in the city it is almost impossible for taliban to take over the city.

Public ideas are scattered about the Taliban and the troops.
majority of the people assume that the foriegn troops themselves have spoiled the situation

Kandahar university is the only university of southern Afghanistan serving the nation.
It was established with only Agriculture faculty; in 1993 the faculty of Medical was included. This University now has 4 faculties; Agriculture, Medical, Engineering and Education, with 1587 students. 1509 male and 78 of them are female students. There are 83 professors that 82 of them are male and a female professor.</SPAN> But due do large scale of needs in the province this university is not fair enough to meet the requirements of the citizen.

                              Abdul Haq,
I have this strong feeling that I might know you personally or our families might know each other.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
