          Let's all give huge APPLAUSE
to this worthy Pashtun guy !

I saw this thread only a little while ago
and wanted to bring it up so that
all of us will be re-inspired by this
man's great courage in the face of such
          temptation
          2 LAKHS!
It's a lot of money, especially in this bad
          economy.
Many other types of people would have
          gone for the bait/
          But his principle of righteousness
          won out !

This is really remarkable rejection of
the greed which rules so much of the West, and the
world in this age devoted to the elevation
          of material objects and money.

He will get his reward tripled in Jannat, Inshallah, by this
          wise decision.

[I hope he stayed with it, after all this praise!
He hasn't been here for awhile.
But maybe people didn't realize what a great deed he did in backing out
          before signing that contract
          which was REALLY---
with the devil to sell his soul ---]

My heart just told me not to sign it. So here I am back in PF. I refused to sign the contract because I felt like I was betraying my own people. I had a friend who had returned and he told me that they run in random peoples house at 3am and start yelling where the Taliban are and many dont even have connections with Taliban. I couldnt do it. Yes I would have had dwa lakha dollara but I would have had those memories of babies crying. Us breaking into peoples houses and make them suffer for the rest of my life.
mashallah wrora i'm so glad you refused to sign ,if only more would follow in your foot steps .

Good for you, kakargirl ~ you are one of the absolute top members here!

              Good for you too Shlombay
The weak justification that "If I don't go somebody else is going to go grab that money" is ridiculous.

People must say that Allah [swt] is watching their EVERY thought, word and move.
Therefore it will be on the eternal record that one has succumbed to
temptation to aggrandize oneself. Most people want money.
              But others want the prestige.
Others search for resume boosting material, no doubt.

These are all wrong reasons to go.

Better to "JUST SAY NO - !"
              and stand for right principle.

Each person that turns down these lucrative offers
sends a message loud and clear to the foreign forces: that they
can't bully or bribe their way into the hearts of the people.
