Do we have any proper sports of our own? If so what are they? I obviously know about mookha which is a pretty popular one but any others?

It seems like it's a Turkic game that may have spread among Pashtuns more recently. It seems like a very barbaric game. I wouldn't consider it a Pashtun game.Originally posted by Nekrofrost View PostAlso what do you guys think of buzkashi? Should it also be called a pashtun game or not because it originated in central asia snd ****
Pashtuns have their own style of wrestling I think: Pak-Afghan traditional Pashtun wrestling competition - Pakistan - DAWN.COM
^^Or it could just be regular wrestling, IDK.

In the area where I am from, Khosay, Wrestling and Volleyball are very popular.
Khosay is wrestling but with one leg and one hand. So you would grab the opposite foot with your hand and try to either knock the other guy down or force him to release his foot so it requires good balance technique. My uncle back in the day was very good at this sport. People from all over the area would come and see if they could beat him.

Well this is definitely is an afghan style as ive only seen pashtuns and afghans do it(also ive seen sindhis do it but theirs is slightly different from ours). I wonder if it has a specific name btw.Originally posted by Sarbani View PostIt seems like it's a Turkic game that may have spread among Pashtuns more recently. It seems like a very barbaric game. The first time I saw a bow and arrow was in the US so I don't know why people think pashtuns use bow and arrows. Pashtuns have been using guns for hundreds of years.Originally posted by jama0112 View PostHave any of you guys tried horseriding or using bows(i assume is popular in Afghanistan too)?

Another game I remember is hurling rocks that is popular. We used to do this to pass the time. So you would grab a rock between 15lb and 20lb and compete who can hurl it the furthest. This can be played for hours cause you would try again and again to perfect your technique. The person that threw it the furthest would mark his spot and then keep trying to out throw him.
Also we would target practice with a sling, the kind that was made by rope and a piece of cloth or leather. You would pick a target and try to shoot the target with the sling. We would also compete who can throw a rock the furthest with the sling.
