  • Hatred Towards Indic People

One of the most disgusting and embarrassing traits of the online Pashtun community is by far the amount of hatred and animosity pashtuns seem to show towards Indic people. When I say Indic I am talking about all Indic people even Indic people who are supportive of our unification and encourage Pashtun nationalism. For example recently in the comments of a youtube video about a pashto song a Kashmiri who hated both Pakistan and India and who had expressed his support for a Loy Afghanistan and his admiration for the Pashto language was insulted and called a "Dirty Hindkowan" by a Pashtun. This is pointless and I can honestly not see where all this hatred comes from. Yes, Pakistan is our enemy, yes Punjabis mainly control Pakistan and discriminate/oppress us. Yet Indic people who are not supportive of Pakistan should not be victims of the hatred and loathing we are justified in feeling towards Pakistan. After all it is much better/useful to have as many allies as possible than it is enemies.

That is what happens to people who tend to like others for the sake of being liked back. They deserve it too. You can't stereotype people or be racist towards them and then be shocked out of your senses when you get the same treatment yourself.

The problem doesnt start with Pashtuns, and the backlash against "Indic people" is not unique to Pashtuns but is a sentiment found among all of Afghanistan.

I think that a large reason for this is that both Indians and Pakis try very hard to portray Afghans and all Afghanistan as "South Asian" and thus somehow apart of the same Indic civilization as they are. You can see this both online and in the real World. Pakis and Indians are very desperate to try to link Afghanistan to them and i have even seen them sometimes trying to link even Iranians to them too.

Indians and Pakis are both equally guilty of trying to appropriate the identity and cultures of all of Afghanistan but particularly Pashtuns and think of themselves as entitled to speak for Afghanistan when they know nothing about Afghanistan. I have seen so many online discussions over the years where foreigners have been discussing a topic to do with Afghanistan in which "Indic people" have involved themselves in without being invited to and start speaking as if they were experts about Afghans and falsely misleading other people about Afghanistan.

This is not just random people online by the way. I remember when Afghanistan was generally considered to be a Central Asian country or a West (or Southwestern) Asian country. But in the last 10 years now Afghanistan is being dumped into South Asia by the international media and many international organisations and bodies dealing with things likes sports, tourism, health, politics etc This is because in the absence of strong and independent Afghanistan to reject this incorrect labelling the Indians and Pakis have been able to falsely convince others that Afghanistan belongs in South Asia.

I was very happy when last year for example Afghanistan with the help of Iran was moved from South Asian Football Federation to the Central Asian Football Federation.

For too long Indians and Pakis have been misleading the rest of the World about Afghanistan and interfering in Afghanistan both politically and culturally it is high time that all Afghans start to push back against these Dravidians and tell them to respect Afghanistan as independent from them or they will get a fitting reply.

Historically, Indics were seen as the "conquered" and we were the conquerors. It's a natural component of the Dominating people to dehumanize and diminish those that have been conquered by us. We're not against Punjabis because ......they "oppress" us, We're against them because we used to oppress them, and we are baffled at how they managed to turn it around on us.

I don't see what this has to do with what happened in Kabul. Yes, the Afghan Taliban is trained, funded and sheltered by the Pakistani Intelligence agency which is majority Punjabi and promotes their interests. However I am not sympathising with them in this thread I am saying that other peoples such as Bengalis and Kashmiris who hate Pakistan and India don't try to associate Pashtuns with south asians should not be victims of the Hatred we are entitled to feel towards Pakistan and India.

What about Indic people who do not try to associate pashtuns and Afghanistan with south asia by this I mean Bengalis. Who from my experience in the real world do not think of themselves as being close cultutrally to us but instead see us as an exotic ally and do not try to appropriate or adopt our culture and instead respect it. I am no expert but from what I have seen we tend to have far too much hate for too many people and when it comes to online discussions we tend to look very uneducated in comparison to Tajiks and Punjabis who are often more learnered. Overall this tends to ruin our image and an outsider would gain the impression that pashtuns are racist and illiterate.

Punjabis don't oppress us? I don't know where your from but in Pakistan Pashtuns are treated like dirt we are made out to be the illiterate, conservative cannon fodder that the whole country laugh's at and it is a stereotype that Pashtuns do menial jobs and are poor. You said that you hate Punjabi's because we conquered them and that it is our right to be racist against them. Going by that logic it is right for Isreali's to hate Palestinians and for Europeans to hate arabs.

Yes but what about the groups of people who are not racist towards us and do not stereotype against us such as Bengalis. Surely they don't deserve to be insulted by Pashtuns.

There are people out there who are not right in the head, man. We are not in a perfect world.. But when you get yourself these little habits developed, you will like only those with these similar little habits as yourself and you will be pulled by goodness wherever you may go. And then you have this window opened to the world that should be rather than what it is. But if you are. Bad person, the window opened would be to a nastier version of the world we are living in and you will always be dragged towards it.

You said, your Kashmiri friend dislikes Indians and pakiatanies but likes Pashtuns. Maybe he should understand that every Indian or Pakistani out there is not evil and that neither is every Pashtun out there a saint. Then, he may start coming across good people.
