To take on a date???? Like in the movies?? Girl friend?
Are you for real?
Seriously man, save some money, ask your mor, sort out khapalwani dastagiri and you will never regret it. Before you respond that that way doesn't work for you, rest assured other ways will give you and your progeny more alienation from the very cultural values you seek.
Wish you the best, talk to your family, and let them sort it out.

Why family? Why others should decide your fate? Why you both cannot decide your future? This is 21st century and Pashtuns are getting out of the stone age traditions that you see your life partner after the marriage when there is no way back. Divorce is still a curse in Pashtun society.
Marriage must be based on one factor and that is LOVE. Nothing else. Neither money nor family nor other aspect. Just love, pure love to decide who should be your life long partner. And for love you need dating, talking , knowing each other and interaction. Others people cannot love for you to decide your love mate.

Well, Marriage is made in Islam as well as other religions. Instead of marriage or relationships we have groups of men and women mingling with each other having casual intercourse. The basis of marriage is sexual fidelity meaning only focusing on 1 member of the opposite gender that is non-mahram. Polygyny in Islam is having 4 wives max but is it possible to keep sexual fidelity between 4 women. Then we have female prisoners of war as mates. But yeah, Marriage is to keep sexual fidelity or focus sexual energy on one person....Originally posted by Badlun View PostWhy family? Why others should decide your fate? If it means to keep family or economic ties, or to preserve a culture through your spouse and children, someone get the islamic texts and explain me.
Marriage has to totally be based on what Islam sais, Islam is priority....... more important than love but you need love because love means you are faithful to your spouse and not goanna cheat.......
Love before marriage? I don't know..... prolly takes hard effort after marriage.
