pashtuns are not recent or 1500 years old nation.
qais was not the ancester of all pashtuns not even the srabanis.
This theory is rejected.
pashtu and pashtuns are there for thousands of years.
Many things from pata khazana are not true.
According to khushal khan karalanis are part of of sarbanis.
Qais was born somewhere in zjob baluchistan in area dominated by gharghasht pashtuns like kakar,mandokhel,musakhel,sheranis,jaduns etc.
Most likely he was only the ancester of gharghasht clan,i guss.
In another book qais was born in ghor.

Back to the question of karlanis.
Karlanis are in good number in tribal areas and banu etc.
In afghanistan they are in good numbers in paktya .
They are the most hardliner and pashtunist group.
They are brave and very fair .
They follow the code of pashtunwali more then others.
