Why do some Pashtun men grow long hair?

My uncle was held at gun point in Microrayon in Kabul during Taliban by two 14 year old Badakhshani Taliban while a Southern commander with hair all the way to his waste ordered them to beat him up for having a communist hair-cut. LOL.

Basically my uncle had a haircut that looked like this:




Poor guy was traumatized because of the beating. He still hates Taliban for that. LOL.

yeah my relatives in Jalalabad were telling me how women were being kidnapped and taken to the kuffars air base to be raped, but nope the Taliban were the incompetent ones

edit: perhaps people will disregard my relatives account because its coming from me, just for the record my relatives are not supportive of the Taliban AT ALL nor do they like them, but they don't like the corrupt puppet regime either or their warlord mafia figures in the area.
