as i am engaged in traditional stuff specially clothes so let me show you what our grandfathers,mothers used to wear.. thats what we call traditional clothes

men used to wear round skirt clothes too.. now they wear normal kamis partog with waskat and Lungei

The Pashtun dress for men is:

Kameez Pardug (shalwar) - plain, one color tone on everything, no decorations, with a collar and not a Sherwani neck, buttons at the end of the sleeves and up to five secret pockets. A rainbow colored narra is optional. Kameez pardug was introduced in India (Punjab, Delhi, Sindh, Gujarat, etc) by Pashtuns. Prior to this, people in India wore Dhotis. However, the different variations of kameez pardug in Indian culture have nothing to do with Pashtuns.

Waistcoat - In winters mostly but on formal occasions as well.

Patka or Chitrali hat - Almost every tribe has its own take on turbans but in most urban areas, the Chitrali cap is pretty common.

Peshawari sandals - As plain as possible, mostly black and sometimes brown, too.


As you can see, the attire for Pashtun men is very simple and straightforward. It tells a lot about their culture and who they are. They are nar. They don't like being decorated and fancy like the counterparts towards the east and the west.
