If anything this demonstrates how little you know about Afghanistan and Pashtuns; Imran Khan is proof your claim is bogus

explains why you just make stuff up as you go along
Khattak? he is a naizi, idiot. The only reason he is liked in the tribal belt is because he talks against the drones. Even if George Bush talks against the drones, pashtuns in the tribal belt would cheer his comments. But beleive me he is not considered pashtun in those regions and when I say this I mean he is not considered as one that lives by the code. You dont have to be pashtun or live by pashtunwali for pashtuns to embrace you. But if he were to grow up in one of those villages and live there and divorced, he would be considered as a baighyrat.

Shut up, you dont know anything.

Benazir is not Pashtun but she was a great leader and remained twice the prime minsiter of a country. I am not concerned with her politics or promotion of corruption here but her personality is my focus.

Why 70 millions of Pashtuns today and billions of Pashtuns in past thousands of years could not produce a single great globally known Pashtun name! This is alarming. The same is true for Muslims as a whole. Except few names like Asiya, Khodeja, Ayesha, Fatima, Rabia Basri we do not have women of global fame!

This is the limit of male cahauvinism in Pashtuns and Muslims! Still we claim namoos and protection for Pashtun women! I am really feeling this moment totally ashamed and guilty.
I thought you were talking about malalai joya. Your obsessed with benazira who did nothing positive for pakistan.
here are some afghan women in history:

Zarghuna anaa, the mother of the great Ahmad Shah Abdali
Zaynab, sister of Shah Mahmud Hotak
Bibi Alaayi, wife of the Roshani leader Ahdad. She took command of Afghan fighters against the Moghuls in 1616 when Ahdad was killed in battle. The Moghuls deported her to Deccan.
Bibi Mobaraka who was the wife of the first Moghul Emperior and it was her who had him buried in Kabul.
Malalai of Maiwand has already been mentioned

      There are many more
There is a book in pashto titled "Pakhtana" by Dr. Bismila Amir who discusses afghan women in history and what they did for their people and the region

he was liked way before the drones; but regardless one of his past indescrepancies are held against him. Why would people who are so adamant about Ghairat and Namus be willing to get sympathy from those who are a disgrace to them? Only answer is that none of that **** matters when other interests are at helm. But even before this he was deemed a "Pashtun hero" to those Pakistani Pashtuns.

You;'re getting upset because your narrative is bogus; you're promoting IDEALIZATIONS of hat YOU want Pashtuns to be, not who Pashtuns really are.

Are you dense? I already explained it, he is not considered one of them. He is not a tribal leader nor does he represent pashtuns. He represents the pakistani state. You have pashtuns praising bollywood hindus as good actors, that does not mean those hindus represent pashtuns.
Im not promoting anything, Im explaining how things are in the rural areas. Your a complete idiot.

            • scimitar, if you haven't been to afghansistan, then you really should make a trip to discover your roots.
you are demeening the whole of pashtun society, when in fact, ALL the people of afghanistan deserve utmost respect for their capacity to survive in such a hardy environment for all these years, and under so many tumultuous situations. even if you do not agree with the way they chose to design their societies.
just the last 40 years, would have made it impossible for constructive evolution of their lifestyle. now it is even worse, with so many displaced people and the war.

What I found is about Swat Pashtuns and that tradition was still alive in 50's.
Attached file is about social aspect of Pashtun marrianges and comes from the book of Fredrik Barth, Political Leadership among Swat Pathans, 1959.
Described traditions were still alive in 50's among Swat Pashtuns. I don't know if they are still alife or if they are shared by other tribes.

The concept of Good deeds are as old as man. They were always regarded as rewards in themselves because they are necessary to give you peace both inner and outer.

Its something, it can not be ignored and wealth is the main factor in having more choices.

but with a reward in the afterlife? can you prove that such a system has been around since the beginning of man?
