  • What would justify hitting a kid...

Asalam o alaikum my dear brothers and sisters...

    what action of kids justifies:

    1. raising a hand on them

    2. beating them up

please give explanation of your answer... it won't be sufficient answer if you write "nothing" or "yes, no"

    nothing.

    yes.

    no.

Yeah okay, here's my reasoning. A man who wasn't hit by his father would inevitably his his children and a man who had received corporal punishment as a kid would never hit his own children.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

      Nothing justifies!

Sadly, it is culture of our Madrassas. Once i went in a Madrassa, Molvi did not come that time, so i sat in wait of him, all the children were happily playing and having gupshup with each other. Suddenly, everyone stopped and i thought all children have been vanished by some Jadoo, but later on i saw Molvi (V. Fat) entered in the Madrassa (I suspect the children had kept away a child who was spying, so they all were silent before the arrival of Molvi). After his horrible arrival, he started to listen the lessons of the students. He had a long strong stick. He beat almost all students in a harsh way.

I found not a single refernece that Muhammad PBUH ever hit any child

i don't think anything justify the "beating" of a child. i am very against it. i do support disciplining a child ... this can be done without beatings.

i personally believe that once parents resort to beating up their children, their children already knows what is the worst punishment they can expect and they get used to it... now any punishment does not scare them because they have seen and experienced the worse... they become "spin stergi"... nothing effects them any longer...

            Nothing justifies hitting a kid!

Both my mom and dad used to beat me up badly, with sticks, sandals, fists..you name it. But by the time I got into high school they realised that hitting me wasn't the answer. And it only made me more rebellious and generally made me a more aggressive person. They themselves still regret hitting me to this day.

Personally, I think hitting is never the answer and it will influence the child to dish that out on others in school etc. Some even turn out to become wife beaters tauba.
