have any of you knowledge of tribes carrying out facial tattooing amongst males in the region? have read around, but have only found content about the women having facial tattoos.

Only African and Indonesian tribes are known to wear tattoos on the face.
Research the Ukit tribe in Indonesia (Borneo)...

the tattoo business is puzzling me and i am wondering if it was a tribal thing or something completely else. i was told he was 'pathan' from nwfp.Comment

men from rural regions of afghanistan do have the green dots in their foreheads. it might have been a trend back in the days.
