So ok, hi guys.
My name is Omed and I am an Afghan of pashtun origin, that speaks farsi and currently lives in the Netherlands. I myself have never been to Afghanistan, but speak the language because my parents were born in Kabul and yeah, everyone there speaks farsi and because I havent been to Afghanistan they have just taught me farsi. But i see many pashtuns on this forum saying that pashto is a requirement, the same goes with islam (I am not really, what you could call a muslim either, i am not sure if I really believe or not). But this is what I dont understand. Imagine: An arab with arab parents grows up in Scotland, and only speaks scottish, is he an arab or a scot? Of course an Arab, because his BLOOD is arab, the same with pashtun, so why do some people not agree that pashtun is a RACE or at least ETHNICITY and not a language or belief. A muslim hazara speaking pashto, is he pashtun? No, so why should I ( a proud Afghan nationalist) by some people, not be considered a pashtun? Just a question.
