Modern attan with the headshaking is pretty gay to me hahaha
i like the old attan with spinning and with shamlahwar and traditional only with dohl...on top of mountains of paktia, paktika wah wah ...that makes fun.
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.
I hate to be a hater. (Lol what a sentence I just wrote). But I hate the students dance at UCD. I haven't yet seen a single attan dance in the USA in a school that represents the original culture. The biggest thing that gets on my nerves is when they mix women and men. I am happy I don't go to UCD cause I would be embarassed and everyone would be asking you this question, "Bro why don't you go to the club with us, you guys do attan with women so whats the difference in a club." Straying from the original thing makes life difficult and these students just get on my nerves when they do stuff like this.
And just to get into the argument of wheter attan is haraam. There is no contradictions, its straightforward, ATTAN//MUSIC is haraam. Simple and straight. I could give you the hadiths and verses but why, people shoud use their own judgement. The way I see it, music/attan pushes people away from religion. People spends thousands of dollars in weddings, attan, all the nonsense. Entertainment is based on music/dance and other nonsense. Many Afghans know how to do attan well but when you ask them how many surahs of the quran do you know with their meaning? ( I speak to my self first because I don't know many either, planning on getting into an quranic arabic class and tajweed soon inshallah. This is my perspective, Islam before everything else.
Anyways, I picked this up on youtube a long time ago. This is how attan should be represented!
my favorit is wardagi women attan. just love how they make wide circles.
i have done attan from really young age. i feel really passionate about it. i feel like its in my blood haha. i know most of the styles and i can do men's style attan as well...
