      haha
I think attan requires some real talent to do. The way they spin the first video, even ballerinas can't spin that fast I was like wooooooooooooooooooooah! Is that for real?

Yes. Attan of Waziristanis is probably one of the most beautiful and manly style of attan.

            ^Agreed.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I don't like the whole "head banging" thing... especially when the young guys with loooong hair do it... it just looks sooo hmm... well.... gay!

my favorit attan (women's) is wardag attan... it has 3 steps and it is a little difficult to swirl around that much but thats what makes it so beautiful.

in guys i like zaazi (jaaji) attan

We need to preserve our dying customs and traditions. Sadly, the arabinization of Pakhtuns is killing off any opposing views that they do not agree with. Atan like many other cultural and entertainment aspects of the pakhtun society are being removed. We must preserve them!!!!

Mrra swalama. Yeah, I don't consider it a dance. I agree with Sangar here, it's supposed to be military training.

Daa zma lewanay Zrra gorah, daa sta lewanee Mina..

I do not consider Attan to be a dance in the sense that it is common in other cultures. I see Attan as military training. However, lately Attan is becoming more like a dance and less like a military training.

The type of Attan I prefer is original authentic tribal attan that looks masculine and is really a heavy physical excersize.

The gay immitation of mujra as you see nowadays in videos is just an insult to our culture.

                                Correct Masculine Attan:

                                Gay Kanchani Mujra Attan:

                                Another question:
Attan is a good exercise or madness?
