  • Pakhtuns Of South Punjab

Salaam friends, i want to share the above subject because i belong from that area. Most Pakhtun families of Punjab are londlord or businessman by profession and they have stricly abide by their ethnic codes up till now.
But recently for the past few generations they have lost pashto as their mother tongue due to inter marriages with inferior cultured tribes. The other main reason is the exposure of punjabi and seraiki languages through maids and servants staff sorrounding them.
Therefore some steps must be taken to revive our mother language or we we may end up loosing our Pakhtunwali values like our mother tongue.

Some parts of my family are Pakhtuns from Punjab, and yes I can see our people losing their mother tongue, best thing to do is to teach them our ways.

I am also facing this problem and I have come to a solution. Solution is to mary only pashtu speaking girls. If children learn most of their language from mother as they spent more time with mother. I shall marry a pure pashtu speaking girl to preserve my pashtu and to teach my language to my children.

Dude, I have never been religious in my life. My father is Muslim, my mother is Christian, which eventually caused their divorce. But I never adhere to anything. My grandfather used to make me read the Quran when I was younger until he passed, after that, nada.

Yes i agree a pakhtun should always prefer a pukhtana wife but she should be pashto speaking also, if she is conservative for her values than it would suit a healthy family.

your pashtun father made you read the quran when you were young . . .
                      you joined PF . . .
and you stopped (la ho la wal la quwa ta . . )

start reading the quran again, easy way is the last three sura, all begin with 'kul', short, easy to learn and read, but do it daily, every morning . . .

you will find your way back walking amongst pashtuns; the most proud muslims you will ever meet!
