  • Helping or ruining culture?

    Guys n girls Salamoona

A couple of yrs ago i met this new singer in kabul. He had recently returned from Tajikistan after making a video.
He gave me his cd which i never watch till today lol, but i saw one of his clips on youtube.. some 5 to 10 tajikistani girls wearing Traditional Afghani dress dancing on stage.

I really didnt like it because those clothes are worn by our proud Pashtanai and were worn by women like Malalai and Nazo.

2nd thing is that many of them specially tajikistani singers come up with pashto songs n music wearing naked clothes.
I have the example of it,, this girl ruined the beautiful song of Ustad shah wali which i really love.

So now you ppl decide .. is it helping our culture or pashtunizm or destroying it?

        I know
we find aloooooooot of them engaged with diff business in Dubai and other gulf countries.. But still i get sad because some of our afghans specially in Mazar sharif support these singers alot and make concerts for them. thats a shame

It is not ruining our culture since its up to us to ruin our culture.

If buy there CDS then that means its ruining our cultures. Since they are so addicted to Pashto they can sing as much as they want.

Forget culture, what ever happened to Islam ... ? It is a gradual process of corrupting one's soul, which, needless to say, involves a lot more. I personally think a heart that has music, has no room for Kalamullah. Music, singing, dancing, are nothing but a clear reflection of the 'idle talks' Allah refers to in the Quran, where man purchases it at the expense of displeasing His Creator. How troubled a state, a mind and how troubled a heart, that turns to music, to find peace ...

            ... Allah guide us all.

globalisation baby, no culture is safe from it.

and on a more specific note, these singers make these videos because people "want to see" that stuff..they arent forcing anyone to watch they only make what people want to see

I think it's good Tajikis in Tajikistan are appreciating our culture and I think Afghani clothes look really good on Tajiki girls. The thing is that some people from Tajikistan got misunderstanding thinking Afghani Kalee is made by Tajiks of Afghanistan, LOL. That's a negative but I don't mind anyone appreciating our tradition. At least somewhere someone wants a part of us.
