I love spring time and I do thing the spring equinox has some meaning; but I couldn't care less about Naw-Roz, even as a Pashtun it isn't my heritage anyways.

even if it was part of our heritage, it doesn't interest me.

although i do live in a community, pashtun and tajik mixed, can't really tell who is who since they all look pretty much the same, that celebrate it.

celebration for the sake of celebration isnt worth the damn celebration.

lets stick to our eids and thats it.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

i got to say i actually enjoy christmas though. as corny as it sounds, i like the decorations, the christmas tv movies, the crappy music, the tree's and all the other worthless crap that goes into it. like most americans, its not a religious thing for me.

well I think Naw Roz is a waste of time .....it also seems contradictory, spring is about rejuvination of life ...but look at how much garbage and waste that pollutes our planet comes from Naw Roz celebrations.

I hate Christmas even more, it's the most obnoxious flamboyant celebration ever, even worse than Hindus and Diwali, for all the reasons you stated I find CHristmas annoying.

the entire western economic lifeline depends on Christmas ...isn't that nuts?

As an American, I like Halloween. Never been trick or treating, but the decorations and Michael Myers movies are fun.

Halloween sucks too....that's an Irish Celtic Celebration; Halloween , Christmas should be rejected on account of the Europeanist underpinnings.

                    ^^^

I never usually get trick or treaters, as I grew up in a building. Now I am in a house, and sometimes forget to get candy. For some years, I have been giving them Nuckle.

I wanna kick the Asian ones

lol the movies are good but since they are on cable, they cut out the gory scenes.

how am i a hypocrite? like i said, i enjoy the stupid and corny superficiality of it all, there is no deeper meaning to it than that. do i want it to be celebrated by afghans? of course not. the same way i dont want another meaningless holiday like nowroz celebrated by them either.

take ur non muslim, non afghan holiday and stick it, pal.
