The laughable thing is, instead of coming up with a system that ensures the safity of the weaker component of the society, Muslim morality tends to shift the entire burden of an unpredictable threat to the honour to the weaker side i.e. she should guard herself against the lustful glances/intention of the menfolk. I think it is based on a low self-image. It is degrading to a woman as well. It is unfair as well.

LOOOOOOOL hos? Faye, whatever these guys are, even in liberality they are conservative. Toramana is a 35 year old engineer or something and Admin Khan is strict and was present... I may disagree with Toramana, but he doesnt "ho" around.Originally posted by faye View Postso, toramana are you saying that when you men went and had your meetup, that you weren't all there for some immoral purpose, flaunting yourself for women and behaving like a bunch of male hos???"2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

The fact that you threw out the term "ho" was pretty funny though. I havent laughed like that in a while.Originally posted by faye View Postso, toramana are you saying that when you men went and had your meetup, that you weren't all there for some immoral purpose, flaunting yourself for women and behaving like a bunch of male hos???"2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

Hahahahaaa, I think woman wasn't remotely on the mind of any one of us. I think every one sounded honourable enough as not to jump at a woman on the first sight (sorry to use this crude language)...Originally posted by faye View Postso, toramana are you saying that when you men went and had your meetup, that you weren't all there for some immoral purpose, flaunting yourself for women and behaving like a bunch of male hos???

consciousness raising needs to go on worldwide for both the men and the women. i don't like how degrading women have become, in the western world, to themselves and i don't like seeing women abused and degraded. it does seem that the women in the muslim society have to make all the compromises.

Im not, I just got a funny image of you getting a funny image of him being a "male-ho." Im sure he can defend himself. The hilarious thing about it is you knew Pashtun guys from back there, even if they are closet male hos, they tend not to display it publicly.Originally posted by faye View Postb.a. ever heard of sarcasm? me an toramana are cool. stop being obsessed with the man to the point you now need to be his voice. i am beginning to worry about you."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

actually i see toramana as a jolly looking chap with a near permanent smile.
i said ho because it sounded less offensive than ***** or prostitute, which is the inference seems to be projected on the women, who want to go to meet ups.
what so funny about ho? we're a bit behind the times here in australia. we let america make all the mistakes first.
unfortunately we then follow in their footsteps.......crazy isn't it?

Toramana,
I respect you as an elder.
But don't slander my religion.
When I was there, you had the chance to debate me on religion. But you told me there that you exaggerate your claims to bring hype to the forum because it get's boring for you.
Seriously. If this is how shallow your views are about Islam then I feel sorry for you.
You should look at what platform you are standing before you try to push me.
That is right. You don't have one!
How convenient.
It is like watching a bum ridicule a home owner for paying mortgage.
By the way. Are you married? Do you have kids?
Thought so.
Maybe you and faye should hook up. It's still not late to give your life some meaning.
Next time you want to argue about Islam. Quote me the Quran. It is the foundation of Islam. Back your haphazard wild guess on real evidence. Instead you blow gas and say whatever you feel is what is Islam.
And please don't talk about MORALS.
You are an engineer. Stick to what you know.
Leave that for the philosophers who have had a harder time trying to define it.

What meat does it taste like? I imagine it to be gamey. Is that correct? I hunt in my little spare time, and small game is easy in the South, but its usually gamey tasting. Deer is not so bad and another animal I've downed and eaten. Moose is up here in the north east, but I have found a hunting ground yet.
How do you get the Kangaroo? Do you hunt it or does it come prepared?"2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

It depends on your point of view.Originally posted by Toramana View PostI don't know why the Muslim morality mainly centers around two things i.e. women and wine with no regard/concern for other important issues like social justice, equality, fair-play, etc. All it seems, it tends to reduce the status of a woman to mere a slave with the only duty to please/serve her man...
I think this points to the tribalistic/feudalistic foundations of Muslim moralty. In such a mindset a woman is considered a property ...and of course properry should be vigilantly guarded for if left alone, there is a risk of it being lost...
I think in old tribal and feudal cultures, a strict control over women was crucial to ensure cohesion of the clan or the extended family and the retention of ancestral or acquired property within the clan structure...
The family is a type of tribal and feudal culture.
If the majority of people in the world are stupid, then the majority of families would have stupid, chauvinistic adults. When male domineering stupidity is reinforced by female submissive stupidity, then naturally inequalities ensue.
Since it is not unfair to say that males are naturally a bit more domineering, then problems can occur.
Wine and women though, I'd agree are poor indicators of morality.
