I don't know where else to post this; I don't think it belongs in the Chai Khana or Entertainment section, so here goes I.
I'm taking a self-defense for women class, and each time I'm there, I'm like, "I'm SO gonna type all this down and share it with others. It might help at least one person out there."
Feel free to share your tips as well.
Try not to go off topic; I'm sure we all hate it when there are like 50 pages of posts, and hardly 30% of them are relevant to the topic. Just create a new thread if we go off-topic (like abuse of women, marriage, husband-wife relationship, hijab/niqab, etc.) I expect this thread to be solely for how to help women gain more confidence and self-esteem and how to better defend themselves when attacked -- or, better yet, how to avoid being attacked completely.

Every woman should know how to defend herself, especially since there's a chance she might end up with an abusive husband. What's she gonna do then? Have her father or brother come to protect her? No, she needs to know how to respond effectively herself.
Are you intimidated by the idea that a woman will be better prepared to face an abusive man at any point in her life? You should be pleased that we're trying to educate your sisters. But I was always warned that not all men can handle education and confidence in women. ~sighs~ The sisters here aren't complaining; why are you, bro?
