^ She says she is "offended" and left. Now to think about it, you are right, I havent witnessed anything rude either. I guess she just left to do homework?

Re: Common Problems after Childbirth (in Rural Areas)

Note: I had to make a very, very important edit in the post. I just found out that the hole that the baby's constant pushing creates is called obstetric fistula. I also added a link to where you can read more about it.... AND according to that website and other sources, the exact same problem also occurs as a result of violent rape. (And let's remember that rape is rape no matter who does it -- whether it's the husband raping his wife (which is called marital rape), a boyfriend raping his girlfriend, a master raping his female slave, a male stranger raping a raping a random female, or whoever else doing it to whoever else.

Just thought I'd share that too.

Okay going back to the tread, Q dear if you would like when i come back from Afghanistan this summer, i can give you the contact info of the lady i will be working with. My father told me she see witnesses every second of her life of problems in childbirth and tries her best to do things about it, but you know how limited healthcare is over there. If you are still thinking of going into medicine. It would be great to work for her possibly 3 months or so. She may even have good connections in SWAT. I mean this is why i am going into the medical field, though it will be very hard to bring the country to stability, its worth trying right.......

i will let you know what i can do

Manana, gulono! Na, I am not going into medicine, but we can still contribute to the healthcare there without being directly/physically involved in medicine. Do share, not just with me but with everyone else here as well, whatever you can! Many thanks in advance

And keep up the goal of medicine! I'll support you all the way, ka khairee!

Most of the female medical students choose gynae in Pakistan. Many of them actually belong to rural areas but after a becoming a docter, they practice in cities because of backwardness & lack of facilities in rural areas. Compared to males , females have very un-professional
attitude as magority of them choose to be housewives after doing MBBS, thus wasting money which governament spend on their 5+1 years medical course.
