Bacha that is going to happen...there is no escape from it...For the some years Pashtanea have been topping the examinations for civil services....Many are now working in judiciary, DMG, etc.....

The secular atheists Pukhtoons that I know imprison their women too. They give them the right to education, career, marriage etc. but only if it is inline with their predisposed notions. Most of the secular, commie, Pukhtoons I know have threatened to kill or disown their daughters if they marry non-Pukhtoons particularly of the Negro, Punjaabi or Indic race. One such girl ran away with her Sikh boyfriend. Another was disowned by her liberal secular father. All Most all of them I know won't let their daughters date, while preaching secularism and humanitarianism and liberalism...absolutely repulsive! They are a JOKE!

Another daughter of a free minded liberal Pukhtoon from a famous "ZAI" family, got involved with drug dealers, disowned by her family for having "too much fun"...she lived from place to place. Her family raised her with so much hate for religion, that one day, high on dope, she actually stabbed a Muslim guy with a beard shouting Taliban! Another liberal Pukhtoon, cheated on his wife, and threatened his wife with "consequences" if she dared do something about it. Sad part, he would actually bring his girlfriend over to his house in front of his little kids. Make his imported village wife make food for them. The drunk ******* will return and take his anger on his kids and wife. She lived like that for about 15 years, till she somehow managed to go home and asked her brothers to not send her back. Now this secular liberal modern hipster, can't go back. He'll loose his head.

When it comes to Pukhtoon women, the secular liberals are as demented when dealing with women as are the religious folks. Especially them vodka drinkers.

We are eastren people and belong to a pakhtun qaam.
We are not against women ,s rights but have our own limit.
You can not make a pashtana a westren angreeza.
This so called westren culture or i should say ,,damtub,,type culture in the name of women,s rights will always be rejected.
We have our own values and culture and we can bring change in our limit.
Yes, we do support women,s rights such as health,educations,jobs etc and all of the above respect.
You go and see how pashtun men look to their women in markets,hospitals etc.

-completely free to make her own decision in matters of career selection...

-completely free to play a wider role in society political, social, or whatever if she chooses to ...
-must have a role at par with a man....

What you are aspiring for is a sub-set or a set. You are still being vague in defining the concept of Liberty. You have to first define the set and then the sub-set. let me give you few examples to explain myself...

1. completely free to make her own decisions in matters of education...

Getting educated within the remit of Islam or you are including certain disciplines that are not allowed for women in Islam such as designing bikini and conducting the fashion shows for it etc. Without being cynical, I think there is very little that falls outside what is allowed by Islam, unless one is bent upon looking for something that will break the laws. So here the Set is Islam and the sub-set is all those disciplines that are allowed by Islam. As long as a lady is staying with that allowed set (which is similar to men and women) I am all up for complete freedom.

2. completely free to make her own decision in matters of career selection....

Does this set of careers make a sub-set of Islam, meaning is the career, that a girl is considering, allowed by Islam? If Islam allows it then there should be no restrictions on her none what so ever. But if wants to become something that isn't allowed by Islam then I am all against it.

3. completely free to make her own decisions in matters of marriage...

ALL UP FOR IT ... as long as the religious rules are not broken (e.g., marrying a non-Muslim) IT HAS TO BE THE GIRL'S AND THE ONLY THE GIRL'S CHOICE.

4. completely free to play a wider role in society political, social, or whatever if she chooses to..

Again, if the role that she wants to play is allowed by Islam then she should have every right to do what she wants to do.

5.must have a role at par with a man...

A woman can not be at par with a man. Female are designed differently then males this biological difference can not be ignored. But if refer to social equality where woman is allowed to play the role that a woman should play in society according to ISLAM that of course stopping her from it is a Sin to say the least.


So here you can see the point is where do you place the liberties? Are these liberties making a sub-set of something that we are alien to ... then of course you are asking for trouble for women as this will lead to creating mistrust and destruction of society. Anyone asking for something like this should be put in his or her place.

I mean the little small dark place where one stays for a very long time.

One further point is that when we talk about Islam it should Islam and Islam only not a cocktail of some pseudo culture and someone's half cooked understanding of Islam.

If you are trying to look for these liberties in Pashtunwali then you will not find them as Pashtunwali as a SET is a culture that has evolved in rather poisonousness times. In other words its a culture of a broken society.

Now the Question is that how do you go about rescuing your liberties, that are given to you by ISLAM, from those that are enforcing a system at times contrary to it e.g., Pashtunwali?
