AٰLCOHOL: Should be Allowed for Pashtuns

Alcohol is so fun. You should all try it. Probably give most of you some life. Seriously, some of you really need to chill, hav a drink and crunk.

You don't have any idea what people over here are talking about

1. If in the hereafter the alcohol does not have intoxication then why its called sharab or khamar or wine. That can be simply called as grape juice which also we have here in this world and is not at all forbidden. Then why this much enticing description of wine in the heavens.

2.Also I dont believe that any part of Quran is mansookh or abrogated as its illogical that Quran once says one thing and then reejct it next. yes context can change an dwe can have different injunctions for the same thing.As how Quran can claim that wine or alcohol has some benifits(may be used) and then it totally make it forbidden.

3.Also one should not drink before prayers but Quran allows you without prayers times. Quran could make it haram in one go and not step wise as it made other things haram even those were also very much embedded in that society.

4.Also I dont see any command which explicitly make alcohol haram as it make other things haram like pork.

5.Also I am confused how Hanafi fiqa make non grape alcohol as permissible

As a physician, I can tell you that alcohol cessation (and for that matter opioid addiction) is also handled differently than other ills (opioid withdrawal generally does not kill you... alcohol withdrawal can). A recent JAMA article discussed how various types of diet for example were self defeating and did not produce reasonable weight loss. What weight loss appeared to come down to was straight up cessation of crappy food and hard work.

However, if one ceases alcohol all of a sudden after a long tenure with dabbling in this drink... it is actually deadly in terms of withdrawal complications. That is why the old treatment for alcohol withdrawal before benzodiazapines were available was... alcohol itself.

Now smoking cessation is handled differently algorithmically... a solid quit date is encouraged. Now we use some pharmacological approaches like nicotine patches and certain anti depressant class medications... but the bottom line is that a quit date (to make it haraams on one's self is the first part of most of the practice I have seen). I have yet to confirm this approach that use in daily practice though with evidence form literature.

Now, Aisha, the mother of the believers, may god be pleased with her answers you in a Bukhari hadith when discussing the ordering of the Quranic surahs and its teaching:

Bukhari Volume 6, Book 61, Number 515 Narrated Yusuf bin Mahk: While I was with Aisha, the mother of the Believers, a person from Iraq came and asked, "What type of shroud is the best?" If the first thing to be revealed was: 'Do not drink alcoholic drinks.' people would have said, 'We will never leave alcoholic drinks,' and if there had been revealed, 'Do not commit illegal sexual intercourse, 'they would have said, 'We will never give up illegal sexual intercourse.' While I was a young girl of playing age, the following Verse was revealed in Mecca to Muhammad: 'Nay! But the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter.' (54.46) Sura Al-Baqara (The Cow) and Surat An-Nisa (The Women) were revealed while I was with him." Then 'Aisha took out the copy of the Qur'an for the man and dictated to him the Verses of the Suras (in their proper order).
