LOL..yeah i agree..!!..i also want a man who respects his women..Originally posted by *Mesbah* View PostAs much as I want to write a long reply, for now I will say, one of the main things is respect. Because it is the basis of any relationship, the basis of love, of trust, of understanding. From respect stems a lot more.

Punjabi, I must huh? Well ... erm, let's see.
Let me start at something we all think about sometimes - the physical appearance. Physical appearance holds very less value in my eyes when put alongside to ones beliefs, characters, values, morals, knowledge and what not. I always like to say that no matter how beautiful or handsome ones outer appearance, if the inner human doesn’t reflect the outer beauty, than that beauty holds no value. Ones attitude, character and qualities make that beauty look ugly. It reminds me of a verse we have in Pakhto, that emphasises my point. Tan me de shne nakreezi paana, Zahir taaza, baatin ke rang pe weeno yema – which can be interpreted (not the translation) to mean, that the body is like a henna leaf, fresh on the appearance, but the effect it leaves is a grave bloodshot colour. So if our inner selves do not reflect our outer ‘supposed’ beauty, that beauty is worthless, and therefore in decisions like these, physical appearance holds very less or no part.
But then, let me give you a twist of this. Many say physical appearance doesn't matter. But, I like to fantasize sometimes, and think of it this way. You might laugh, but here goes. Okay, I would want someone with a height tall enough to accomodate my whole being, to hide me from false glances and to provide me shelter and shadow from bad looks. With shoulders and arms, which should be strong, competent, wide and broad enough to protect me, to surround me completely whenever I feel heart broken, to provide me a full circle of comfort and love. A man whose fingers are long and powerful enough to hold mine, to guide me, whenever I needed help. And a man with a feet, which should be steady and regular in speed, so that we could both walk together, side by side, like two friends. By now, you are laughing LOUD, I can hear you.
As for everything else ... and what Pakistani has referred to ... is lust. Now let me remind you Pakistani, that not everyone has had their share of gifts, so no, our demands from men don't rise, but from ourselves and our Creator to maybe reward us for the patience we've had in a dirty world which is a constant temptation for many. And from there, the beauty, purity and longing of a relationship evolves. I once read that lust is like trying on clothes, while love is finding an outfit to keep. And so in saying that, I am looking for the same thing, someone who hasn't given in to their worldly, emotional desires. Someone who, too, is waiting for that outfit to keep, forever.
I probably have a lot more to ask, like him being open minded and all, but then being too open minded, his brains might fall out ... my fingers are getting tired. And I, in writing, am a dreamer, as you can see.Last edited by Guest; 05-13-2010, 11:51 AM.

my own family is from remote village in afghanistan... but i have been born and raised in city... i have been exposed to village life alot when i was growing up, through my mom taking me back to village to see my family on and off...
it;s very different and enjoyable lifestyle... i myself am very into having a farm and chicken and sheeps and cows... but of course there were something i didn't like about women's life in villages which is why i never saw myself living in such a place...
