There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Not to worry! Persian language/culture is not under attack at all. Persian is actually one of the most commonly taught languages in the west, as opposed to Pashto, which is barely taught by 4-6 institutions in the U.S.!
And I love Persian right after Pashto. I don't care what anyone says. I am crazy about the language (and culture, too, yes), am studying it right now, and I intend to pursue it further to become fluent in it, ka khairee! Take your envy and hatred to hell with you, those of you who think a language should be hated for whatever reason.

All Pashtuns are crazy for our language and you are a perfect example. We are just not crazy for your language and we will appreciate it if your Afghan mellat does not force your Pashto upon us. We do not need Pashto for nothing and we find nothing attractive about it.Originally posted by Roshina View PostNot to worry! Persian language/culture is not under attack at all. Farsi has drove many people like you wild and I don\'t blame you. We Persians of Afghanistan and Iran are known to be literary figures.

i am not a talib so that doesnt really mean anything to me. so why havent the proud farsi speakers taken down this statue of a man who represented a system to russianify ur culture 20 years after the regime fell? There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Its to show him the statue that we still exist. The power of Farsi is far greater than your tribal Pashto. I have no problems with Pashto but Pashto is just not on par with Farsi.Originally posted by randolph85 View Posti am not a talib so that doesnt really mean anything to me. so why havent the proud farsi speakers taken down this statue of a man who represented a system to russianify ur culture 20 years after the regime fell?

We show our cultural dominance of how Arabs tried to get rid of our culture but failed.Originally posted by randolph85 View Postthat makes absolutely no sense lol

I don't know of many Pashtuns who study Persian for pleasure. Almost all the ones I know who know the language grew up in Afghanistan, where Dari is spoken widely. Not sure where you meet the ones who choose to learn it themselves. Me, I love it because I have this intense love for languages in general. My current loves are Arabic and Persian, both of which I am crazy about. (However, if you must know, I was initially compelled to take the language as part of the curriculum for my major. Only while studying it did I realize I loved it this much.)Originally posted by Parsistani View PostAll Pashtuns are crazy for our language and you are a perfect example. Rest, feel free to think whatever you wish. I don't believe in imposing a viewpoint or language or culture on others, so the rest of your comment doesn't apply to me, and I am merely amused by it. It is true, however, that Farsi has driven many people mad. The great Muhammad Iqbal wrote that he preferred Farsi to all other languages he knew because it was the one language he could express himself most eloquently in. I feel that way about English, though.
