I dont really care if it dies out in India, it probably will because thats the agenda of the hindi speakers there, even if you notice now in Bollywood, they are using more hindi now, unlike in the 50's, 60s, 70,s where most of the songs were in urdu

Also Pakistanis should refrain from watching bollywood and learn more purer urdu to keep the language alive
Urdu or Urdu-Hindi is a foreign language imported from India and imposed upon Pashtuns, Baluchis, Sindhis, etc. Bangalis agitated against it in 1940s when Jannah the grad-pa of Pakis decalred the imported language as a national language ignoring local sentiments....Pakis fired on the agitators and many people were killed ...so in memory of the martyres that day (Feb 22) is celeberated as the mother-tongue day all over the world...

The relation of Urdu to Persian is just a myth propagated by Urdu-Hindi speakers to make the acceptance of Urdu pallatable for non-Urdu speakers....Urdu in old times was called Hindvi and Hindustani....

It should more appropriately be called Urdu-Hindi...

Roshina, all those time, I kept wondering why Dari is more easily understood by majority as compared to Pukhto? But you reminded me that that's because there is no gender in Dari, LOL. Many people who struggle with Pukhto struggle mainly because they use the wrong words (and sometimes wrong sentences) for men/women.

Most languages are related to each other is some way!
Pashtu and Dari are both Aryan languages (Pashtu Eastern) (Dari Western).

most words co exists in both languages but the pronunciation is much different.

        see the chart.
