BKTEF Signs MOU with the Culture Department, Govt of Pakhtunkhwa
The Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Culture Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the protection, promotion and preservation of local culture, arts and heritage here on Monday in Nishtar Hall Peshawar. Crafts exhibition and music events were held to celebrate the MOU. Under the MOU BKTEF shall assist the Culture Directorate in the establishment of a Culture Resource Center (CRC) under its project Promotion and Preservation of Local Arts, Culture and Heritage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the financial support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy. The CRC shall be equipped with state of the art library, digital archives, museum, studio and training institute and shall focus its activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Culture Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shall provide required space for the CRC and extend its support to the BKTEF in the establishment of Community Culture Clubs for artistic collaboration and exchange, joint research and study, exchange of information, people-to-people exchange, strengthening traditional community cultural institutions and interaction and exchange among cultural heritage agencies and organizations.
The MOU supports the conservation, protection and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage through program in cultural heritage management, protection of intellectual property rights and networking. The Culture Department Government Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the BKTEF would also step up cooperation in cultural enterprise and creative industries through product development, promotion of the culture market, media development, exchange of information and networking among experts.
Both parties agreed to assist each other in Culture Education in educational institutions, human resource development in the fields of archaeology and cultural heritage, traditional and contemporary arts, cultural enterprise and creative industries, and the arts and cultural management.
The MOU will focus to bring in a new level of energy and a sharper focus in cooperation between the BKTEF and the Culture Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which shall add to the close and friendly ties existing between Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the BKTEF.
