  • Kathak and Khattak Dance very Similar

I just happened to stumble across a discussion about the Khattak Attan. The Khattak Attan is very different from the other Original Attans of the other tribes. The Khattak attan is mainly just spinning around with hardly any movement of the head but mainly the arms.

There is a classical Indian dance by the name of Kathak, which also sounds similar to the name Khattak, that processes the same spinning movement as one of the main dominant characteristics of the dance.

What do you guys think? Is Khattak Attan Actually a Indian dance or is highly influenced by the Indian Kathak that is why its so different from other forms of Attan.

    Kind Regards

      You are definitely NOT Pashtoon,

Khattak Attan looks just like Logari Attan.

Mazloom stop trying to connect Pashtoons to dothead culture please, thanks.

khattaks are muslims and pashtuns, attan is completely diffirent than kathak, which is a religious ritual, each gesture represent some kind of Gods. while the khattak attan is a preparation for war. Atleast used to be.

Actually there is difference between khattak dance and khattak attan. Khattak dance is done with swords and involves spining while khattak attan is fast version of typical attan. khattak attan is done to dhol and is simpler than waziri attan.

I am not an Afghan, I am a Pashtun from Pashtunkhwa.

Plus dude, I am a full blood Pashtun, not half Arab or Half Dari or whatever. So I have the right to research into my people.

No my naive friend, only north-westren portion of balochistan is pashtun. More than 70% of balochistan is baloch area.
Balochs are independant people, they dont like to be associated and identified with pashtuns. Their goal is greater balochistan not loy afghanistan

I dont think you are a pakhtun from pakhtunkwa, at least you dont think like one. In pakhtunkwa, there is no half this or half that, you are what your father is.
