        Pashto dictionary

This dictionary contains all of the words from the glossary of Herbert Penzl's A grammar of Pashto: A descriptive study of the dialect of Kandahar, Afghanistan (Washington, DC: American Council of Learned Societies, 1955), pp. 154-165

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

        -Ferishta, 1560–1620

It's limited, but it's primarily based around the Kandahari dialect of Pashto. So some words might appear new to you.

What does the word "Marha" mean that Mashreqiwal often use at the end of their sentences?

                    Example:

                    Kho khabere wuka, marha!

I don´t get it and have never heard it before.
                    The only constant is change.

The dictionary has too many dari/farsi/urdu words and therefore not suitable for pukhtuns to utilise due to the errors.

for example the word akher is used for the word end but that is not pukhto. The correct word is wras te.

ahista is used for slowly but that again is wrong. The correct word is roe.

I dont have the time to go through it all but i just wanted to elucidate my point.

How does one say, 'Rebel' in Pashto? Is 'yagh' a proper word for it?
