          @Feroza banu

          it seems to me that kandahari pashto is mixture of kheen and sheen dialect, its not pure sheen dialect like marwats.

                The Alif mad should not be ommitted at all because Pashto didn't come out of Urdu but rather Urdu is influenced by pashto, arabic, Farsi/Dari... we shouldn't be changing our way of writing because Urdu is borrowing it from us...

                There are many many words that use "alif mud"... and when pashtoons pronounce that word they actually pronounce it as "AAA"

                the word "aas" (horse) is pronounced exactly with "alif mad" with a longer "a" sound.

                    how did you conclude this?

                    Kandahari pashto is pure Sheen Dielect.... it is the original dielect of Pashto.

                          I have a question though...

                          are we trying to learn the formal pashto here or are we trying to learn different commonly spoken dielects.

                          If you study Dari, the formal written Dari is very different than the spoken one... the same is the case for Pashto... each region could have their own dielect and their own way of pronouncing each word... but formal pashto is same.

                          if we are only learning different dielects and not formal pashto then i won't correct anyone.

                          for example... Fox = Lewa... and its writte "laam" "yaa" "waw" and "hay"

                          Luffy here has written "laywo" it could be his dielect... and i understand but formally we cant write it "laywo"...

                          I don't wanna sound like a principle here going around correcting things if we are only concerned about dialects and not formally written pashto.

                            I have been observing pashto of kandahari members and i have noted that they use lot of words of yousafzi dialect.
                            forexample in your first post in this thread you have used maigi for ants and magak for rat while it should be maizhi and mzhak in sheen pashto.

                            for fox we use lomarra and laywo for wolf (plurl= lewan). there is no standard dialect yet

                              ^i wasn't writing in Kandahari dielects in my first post... did i say i was?

                              the reason why you call it lewoo is because you haven't been taught pashto in your school... if you had studied it in your books you wouldn't call it lewoo... its written Lewa and plural is lewaan

                              no offense.
