how old is the article????

it mentions that Pashtu is going to be implemented from the next academic....with some still opposing its implementation for no great reason that i see.....

when people are already learning to read and write urdu... then why not pashtu? when they can speak pashtu and read urdu it becomes all the more easier to learn top read and write pashtu.....

knowing to read and write pashtu has helped me a lot to learn to read and write pashtu....

The next step should be that Pashto may be made compulsory subject IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS also as now a big chunk of students study in private institutions.

Non Pashtun parts as Hazara should not hinder this move as Pashto is lingua franca and if not the first , is the second language of almost all residents of Pashtunkhwah. Learning a language is however useful for all. We learn English but we are not English. Learning Pashto is also learning the national language of Afghanistan.

If Pashto is made the official language of Pashtunkhwah , then people will strive to learn it for jobs , business and instaed of making obstacles will promote any step to learn Pashto. Why we elarn English ebcause its important.

I agree with this totally! In order for the peoples of the world to have better understanding we need to communicate. If we are educated in the language and customs of each other, then misunderstandings are minimized. Education keeps us from being manipulated, it teaches us to reason, and not respond aggressively-more mind and less fists.
