  • Teaching/learning Pashto online

I have come across several individuals, qualified and unqualified, who are offering to teach Pashto online e.g. via Skype or other such software and charging by the hour, with the first lesson usually offered as a free trial. Many of these individuals are actually based in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Does anybody here have experience of learning or teaching Pashto like this?

I am considering teaching Pashto myself via Skype - it looks easy enough and I have previous teaching experience. However, I only want to teach Kandahari Pashto (out of appreciation for the language so am willing to do so for a minimal fee) so if anyone is interested we can arrange something.

Total waste of time and money. The decision to learn a language should be based purely on its utilitarian value.

I actually think more Muslims should study and learn Hebrew in order to be better equipped to debate a Christian regarding the Bible. As soon as a Christian missionary is confronted with a Muslim who is fluent in Hebrew, the Christian is roasted, since Christians themselves don't bother to learn the language their own scripture is written in.

Since Arabic is closer to Hebrew, I think Arabs in particular should make an effort to learn to read, write and speak in Hebrew, it will be easier for them.

There is no treasure of Pashtun literature that can be unlocked by someone who learns it. It would be more prudent for a student of Islam to learn Urdu, since vastly more religious literature is written in Urdu than Pashto.

Nevertheless, these languages are essential to learn for a Muslim 1. Arabic 2. English

      1) I never mentioned Islam or said learning Pashto has anything to do with Islam.

      2) Stop bringing your religion into every single thread

      3) I could use the same logic as you and say your being religious is a waste of time because nobody can prove that there is a god or afterlife/whatever in the first place.

Although I understand different Farsi dialects easily, I'm not a fluent speaker.
