  • Can you people help me with this scripture?

Greetings. My name is Formless-- I'm from South America. I have a request: Could you guys help me on this one? We, the community of Subreddit NeverBeGameOver, based on a videogame named Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, are solving riddles placed into the game.

One of these riddles, we believe, is written in Pashto language.

Thus, i'm asking for help from this forum to translate a picture.

Do you mean you can't see them on your phone or that you don't understand what it says? I just updated my post with more images that might be clearer.

      Hugs.

What gratification do you get from playing a video game that you intend to cheat on?? And why does a game designed for non Pashto speakers have puzzles in Pashto in them??
Are you sure this is not for training purposes or something?? To get your battlefield skills sharpened up, perhaps??

                    Greetings, DaZahroJaam!

Truthfully, Metal Gear has been, since it's foundations, a video game series that has always featured major criticism toward the Western world's warmongering attitude-- It's somewhat of a critique of the United States of America's, Russia's, and China's imperial roles in modern geopolitics. It deals with themes of control, manipulation, and domination over the means of information. Metal Gear has even contributed to my political thought-- That's my gratiffication, i don't know anyone else's .

Hideo Kojima, the person who directs the series (And Kojima Productions, the studio that produces the series) is based in Japan; Metal Gear has always been a critique of how imperialist, elitesque, and oligarchic groups can control the world through (Even though it isn't said much) the means of "democracy" and globalized capitalism. Hideo Kojima has always been a huge fan of incluiding puzzles in his games-- This latest game, well, contains a puzzle written in Pashto language, hence why i'm here just politely asking for you guy's help-- Anything you can do to help us, we'll thank you for!

Thus, i assure you it has nothing to do with getting anyone's battlefield abilities sharpened up :P... If anything Kojima's message have always been against it. After all, the final Chapter of the game we're looking for is called "Peace".

                    Hugs!

You didn't answer my question. English is perceived as a universal language across the globe. Why is this game including words from a language in a third world country where not even 10 percent of its population will even come across this video game. From a marketing perspective, that makes zero sense. So why Pashto??

Did you dumbasses know that USA army uses video games to prepare its soldiers for the real battlefield in Afghanistan?? Would you like to write them the manual next time shamlawar??

"To burn always with this hard gemlike flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life."

Sir, it's great that you mentioned this! It is actually mentioned by one of the characters in the game that 90% of the world speaks the English language-- In fact, he wants to free the world of English because of the codes, signs, and symbols that are embedded into it-- His message is: When you make the whole world speak the same language as you, it makes it easier to control them. And i don't just speak English-- I also speak both Spanish and WayĂșu, which is an Arawak-derived language that is spoken by an specific set of ancient tribes in Venezuela. I'm South American: I know what the USA is all about.

The reason it includes words from the Pashtu language is because the videogame is set in Afghanistan: You fight AGAINST one of the factors/side of pretty much the oligarchy that controls the world from within the USA, NOT on their side. It is a game about setting people free from the domination of governments. This particular riddle is written in Pashtu because of realism and the environment it is set in-- The videogame's creator, Hideo Kojima, also wants us to reach people that have been historically, socially, and culturally MARGINATED and realize what Imperialism and WAR has done to the world. Or at least, that's my interpretation about it.

Just for a note: The original language of the game is Japanese, not English. The game is made by Japanese people-- It has no connection to the Western World other than setting and characters. Just thought i'd let you know. And trust me, I respect your opinion on videogames, to the point that i agree with you on this-- There is a cultural side to the military-industrial complex, without a doubt... But trust me, again, this videogame isn't about it-- It's against it, it's what the series have always been about. I have NO INTEREST on fighting wars for anyone, and if i did, it wouldn't be on Imperialism's side. I can assure you that with my life.

We use videogames as a mean to relax our minds and have fun-- This is why we're spending time decoding language. That is our gratification. Videogames are like movies: Some have a good message, some don't. I can tell you that in my case, it's been a good message. I'm no pawn.

                        Then again, hugs!
