when people focus on keeping something alive on the basis of statics and become obsessively insecure about it, despite all their efforts, it wont last long. there is nothing natural about your passion for it at that point and artificial love or concern doesn't last long.

Pashtuns are about 60% in Afghanistan and your study is from 2008, hence, not reliable and outdated. I'm sure Pashto will suffice just fine considering its the national language of Afghanistan and almost every Pashtun can speak it along with Farsi. However, i am worried about its status in Pakistan, even more people in Peshawar are now adopting Urdu and Hindiko.

Btw, are you still up to preaching gay rights or have you finally renounced that hope?

Yes reading and writing of Pashto are dying especially in Pakistan. Speaking of Pashto is already dead amongst tribes like Nyazi.Muhammadzai of Afghanistan,Tareen, Jadoon and in some áreas of Western and Northen Afghanistan,Punjab, Karachi and India.
However Pashto is still spoken by more thanks 60 Million people in the world.

75% of Hindko speaking people in Pakistan are Pashtuns with tribes like Dilazak and Swati that used to speak Pashto ..... but in previous times it may have been smaller

the rest 25% are Awans, Jats, Gujjars, Tarkhans, Mughals etc. dilip kumar and the kapoors in bollywood account for that portion of hindko people. And i'm guessing Kashmiris from Jammu and Kashmir could be included into that mix... but not so much the Shina or Chitrali people...

Pashto Speaking Sikhs are a big mystery. It's either they were punjabis mixed into the Pashto culture, or Pashtuns that left Islam for Sikhism when conquered by Sikhs, cause Sikhs did conquer a few provinces from the Abdalis so forced conversions are unknown .... , Pakhtuns are fairer complexion than Sikhs yet it could be hard to reckon what they are in that stance....

I have seen many fair skin Pashtun Hindus and Sikhs. This is a myth that all Pashtuns are Muslims.

Pashto speaking Sikhs are not Pashtun, they are Punjabi and Hindiko's are not Pashtuns either. Sikh invasions were farce and were not concerned about spreading their culture or religion.

Either way, Peshawar is a very mixed city, even more then Kabul.

Hindu Pashtuns and Sikhs don't exist, plain and simple. These Sikhs are just settled Punjabis who speak Pashto since its the national language of Peshawar, just like many Persianized Pashtuns in Kabul speak Farsi since its the lingua franca there.

                        fair skin probably doesnt matter

the Kapoors are hindko people from peshawar and theey have fair skin but the older kapoors remembered how to speak hindko

non-muslim hindkos are just as fair as pashtuns, like why do nuristanis and kalash look white and they were not muslim till recently....

Nah, they're not Pashtuns. They're just Punjabis that hopped over into Pashtun territory when the British invaded and annexed the Pashtun regions of Pak as part of their British Raj. A couple of them could also have came here from Hari Singh Nalwa's invasion of KPK.

Btw, there was an Express Tribune article written by a Pakistani Christian in Peshawar where she said that the non-Muslims of Peshawar still mostly remember how to speak Punjabi and that's something unifies them in Peshawar.

The Kapoors are Punjabis not Hindkowans. Their family came from Faisalabad to Peshawar cause their father got a job there. However, Shahrukh Khan is half Hindkowan.

The Kalash and Nuristanis have nothing to do with Hindkis...
