  • Kurdi Pashto similarities

The following is a youtube link of an interview of Zhwandoon TV with Kurdi girls in a Nowroz program.

I am interested in feedback from pashto speakers after listening to the interview to give their opinion of similarity between pashto and kurdi. Kurdi is an ancient iranian type language.

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

All people stretching from the Mediterranean region, to Middle East, Iran, Afghanistan NW Pakistan are pretty similar, it's only once you hit the Indus river (South Asia) people change drastically

a couple of years ago we lived in a very tiny little town so we got to interact with about 8 or 10 kurdish families alot since there weren't that many of us around. along with the language, alot of their cultural aspects are similar to that of the pashtuns. i was also very fascinated with the dresses the elderly kurdish women wore since it seems to be made of the similar fabrics that our women wear traditionally. i saw a couple of girls with the green tattoos on their faces as well. very honest, simple minded and straightforward people.

i find iranians materialistic, pakistanies overly obsessed with religion, afghans arrogant and lazy , arabs as farthest away from the eastern cultural or religious basis and indians, out there in a corner of their own, doing their own thing. if you live in the west and have access to all these communities and crave for human interaction from time to time, go for the kurds. in small doses, of course.

i would leave it at that but i am in the mood to be pretentious or as some would say 'civilized' so, yeah... excuse me.

You obviously live in England/Europe, otherwise Pakistanis elsewhere aren't that religious and Afghans are far more religious and orthodox and than Pakistanis are.

Which middle easteners? Italians/Greeks/Mediterranean Europeans are very similar to Turkish, Lebanese, Syrians and you can even extend their similarity to Kurds, Iranians, Afghans, Northern pakistanis (dardic) people. They are all historically linked and are pretty similar. South Asians and Arabs (Gulf Arabs) are very different from them

Maybe Italian/Greek and Lebanese are close. Even culturally sometimes I can't tell the difference between the two here.
