No actually i didnt like or appreciate his comment. If i find learning pashto as a joke....why am i here? why did i spend $ 400 on two pashto softwares.....i take the time of day to learn, though i am in college 12 hours a day. So what does that say?? If i didnt care about being Pashtun, then i wouldnt have tried to get to learn more about my culture. I guess i dont have the support that i thought i would get, so thanks.

Hey, MFD, you have our support. Don't let anything dishearten you, or anyone discourage you. In fact, very soon I was willing to participate in this thread myself as I am translating a Pakhto article, and thought I might need a few suggestions. This is one of the threads I am actually following, and in a matter of such less time, I must say, you've done quite a lot. Keep it up, you will get their very soon. Our prayers are with you Dearest.

MsFuteDoc - right behind you. What say we set up a thread where we do some vocabulary/phrase and sentence building? Is that one of the whole purpose of this part of the forum?

It's unfortunate that this thread seems to have spun off in another direction.

So I see you did like my suggestion of you teaching us Pakhto on this forum.

Even then, MFD and I were the only excited ones. We make a good team kana?

I agree, yes we should. Many of us are students, still. Go for it!

          (Clearly in an emoto mood)

@ Mesbah and Tor Khan yow jahan manana....i couldn't love you guys more, your support means a lot.

I know the family relations, but i kinda need help with the in-laws.

Also when someone says something, i feel like i am saying 'manana' and 'mehrabani' over and over again. Also when you are leaving, you say 'de khudai paiman' and i reply with ' Pa makha di kha' but then i also feel like repeating myself, what else is appropriate to say?

Instead of manana you could say -
                        Khair yose,
                        Salamar ose
                        Mehrabaan(a) ye/yast

Forgive us, we have lost a bit during our long slavery and due to imposition of alien languages.

Mayana can you also speak Dari ? Is 'Salamar ose' the same as in Dari 'Salamat bashen?'

                              Is 'yast' the Kandahari version.

Ooooh sorry! I didn't mean Salamar - I meant Salamat!

                                Yes, it means "Salaamat baashen"

                                Ye is like "asti"
                                Yaast is like "asten"
