  • The word "pataan"

I've never heard of a pushtun mention the word "pataan" to another pushtun (in the right context of course), yet when they speak to pakistani's they use this word.

For example, "Ow tha pushtuna/pukhtuna tha." As opposed to "Ow tha pataan tha."

Does this mean this word is one used by pakistani's only and is not a pushtun word? Or is it just me?

Well that answered my question and explains my observations! End of discussion.

The ISI created that word to separate the Paktuns from Afghanistan, and the ones from Pakistan and India. I am on to those sonsof bytches.

Someone told me that the indic people call us patan(robber) because our ancestors used to raid indic villages and take what they wanted. They would take women as wives and other loot. I don't know if this is accurate or not but they are the only ones that use it for us.

The other theory is the ISI made this story up to defame the pashtuns.

              I kid of course.
