and thus for plural you can use NO5 and for singular you use NO 2 and hence no confusion of singular and plural. We can avoid using this ye ے
    Then according to you Khabaray may be written with No5 which is old script and been abondoned;
it is written as "خبرې" and not "خبرے" is it?
according to you if Khabaray is written with NO5 then it is a contradiction to your earlier post in which you have tried to tell that No.5 is used for intermediate sound between "ee" and "ay" becoz "khabaray" is the intermediate sound....am confused sir....

At the end i will agree with Tor Khan...They use "ي" and we use "ے" for the same purpose....

well as far as far as Ya' No:5 i.e ے is concerned it has been in use in pakistan from very long time...as i said in one of my posts that before the new pashto script کښې was written as کښے (with ya' No: 5) as u can find the word in old pashto books....so it has been in use here since long..

Well sir that may be your opinion....i think "Hagha pakhavee" is not written with "ئ" at least in Pakistan...it is written as:
        هغه روټۍ پخوي
because the ya' No;3 i.e "ئ" in your post is called "Ya'e amar" and can only be used in sentences in which some sort of order is given for example:
        روټۍ زر پخوئ
        دروغ مۀ وايئ
        etc...
Yes I agree that YE No 5 ے
is used in Pakistan and some times its indispensabe to disntinguish words like sarhey(man) and sarhey(cool/cold) as the first one is written with this Ye no 5 and the second one with Ye no 2. However for the sake of uniformity that all Pashtuns may write the same way, the use of this Ye No 5 may be avoided.
I also say the same that "Hagha pakhavee" is written with ي
(with two horizantal dots or with out these two horizointal dots as this the same with dots or with out dots while the YE with two vertical dots is the No 2) because its sound is of I or EE while ئ
is used for imperative or AMAR as you said or with verbs which dont have the sounds of ee or i as I gave examples in my above posts.

Dear Friend , I have never said that khabarey may be written with No 5. It cant be written as the sound is intermediate one. Now a days its written with No 2 every where in Pakistan and Afghanistan and which is a great development which I think took place after the famous Barha gali conference on Pashto script where Pashtun writers from Pakistan agreed to write words like KHABAREY(TALKS) with YE no 2 as previously in Pakistan it was written with Ye No 5 which as you said now is obsolete even in Pakistan.

Now a days the only difference remained in the use of YEs is the use of No 5 only for male singular words with ligature sound as spay(dog), sarhay(man) in Pakistan while in Afghanistan all such words are written with YE No 2. In Pakistan ye No 5 is written to differentiate words like SARHEY(MAN) and SARHEY(COLD). The MAN one is written with NO 5 while the COLD one is written with NO 2. In Afghanistan both these words are written with NO 2.

I will recommend that we may not say THEY and WE as we are all Pashtuns and may write the same way. We can avoid the use of No 5 for the larger interest of being Pashtuns and for the uniformity. There are always homographs in languages like SARHEY( MAN) and SARHEY(COLD) whose meanings are differentiated with context and pragmatics. May be written the same way but may be understood taking the context and the situation of the speaker or writer.

Or we may call an international Pashto conference and Pakistani Pashtun writers may convince the Afghan Pashtuns to start using the No 5 as not to confuse homographs in Pashto.
