@ Haris - it varies in English too.

Some of this must be determined by the number of zeros in a billion or trillion. Different societies have different billions/trillions. I checked Qamasona and this it what is shows for

    a billion:

په فرانسه او امريكا كې زرميلونه، په پريټانيه او المان كې يو مليون واره ميلونه

    In France/America its 1000 million (e.g. 1 000 000 000), in Germany/Britain its million times million (a million-million, e.g. 1 000 000 000 000)

Both meanings of the same word in western world are significantly different.

    a trillion:

زربليونه - په امريكا او فرانسه كې - يومليون بليون - په المان او انګلستان كې

    USA/France, a trillion is 1000 billion (e.g. 1 000 000 000 000) [same as English/German billion]

    English/German trillion is a million billion (e.g. 1 000 000 000 000 000 000)

Would be interested in what they consider a billion in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Most often in Pakistan its lakh (100 thousand) las lakha/million (1000 thousand) crore (10 million), sal crore (100 million), zar crore (1000 million).

You can use the program Anki to make flashcards. It is much faster than making them by hand, and works perfectly. I've been using it myself for a long time and it is truly a great tool for learning languages among other things.

Try it out if you haven't already.
I just downloaded it... WOW I wish I had this during my university days! The study options and graphs are really going to help. I was disappointed that there were no Pashto card sets but when I create my own I will add it to the library InshaAllah. What an indispensable tool...many thanks!

Yeah, but you can create an online account as well where you can store your cards and go through them. I think you can also edit them. So in theory I guess you can just use the website.

But I really recommend using the program, it's much faster and pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. If you go to the site there are even youtube tutorials on how to use it.

And it's completely free so I strongly recommend that people at least give it a shot and see if they like it.

I used to make flash cards slowly by hand, but when I found Anki I was hitting myself on the head for wasting all that time! It's so easy!
