Personally, I haven't heard of that, we use it differently: Panjay, Shallay, Lassai, Pinzosay, Sadday and Zarray are used to refer to bills. For example a $20-bill would be a Shallay, a $50-bill would be a pinzosay.

We use those words too, but I'd prefer to say:

                  Pinze goon
                  Las goon
                  Shel goon
                  Pansoz goon
                  Sel goon

It was used for counting in the old age, even it was popular 50, 60 years back. There is a proverb in pashto "drey shaley auo shpeta yaw shey dey". It means what you say and what the other person says are the same with exception, both use different words.

Yes, it is very common here in the rural areas......my mother often will count like this......Shpag shaley(120), shpag neemi shaley(13), naha shaley (180), naha neemey shaley (190, also can be called las kam dwa sawa) .........for numbers above 100 they usually use that "shalley" system.......base in this system is "20".........
Na soz sho na saaz sho,
                          Bas hasy jwand tamam sho
