Brother, Sufis are Ahl al-Sunna. Ahl al-Sunna (Sunnis) are represented by the four schools of fiqh (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi`i, Hanbali), the two schools of `aqida (Maturidi, Ash`ari), and the various Sufi tariqas (Naqshbandi, Qadiri, Chishti, Shadhili, etc.).

The talk you posted is full of false information and misunderstanding. For an understanding of the role of Tasawwuf/Sufism in Islam, read "The Place of Tasawwuf in Traditional Islam."

Instead of listening to this falsehood (it has been repeated here before, and its authors have shut their eyes and ears when the truth has been presented to them), listen to Shaykh Hamza and find out for yourself.

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is responsible for the guidance of hundreds and thousands of Muslims. His institute in Northern California has transformed the local and broader communities. Countless non-Muslims have come to Islam through his and the institute's efforts. They have now established the first Muslim college in America. And as for his activism, he tirelessly travels the world to speak on issues of truth and justice. He repeatedly condemned Bush when the latter was president, and he has repeatedly condemned the "war on terror" in public.

Computer "mujahids," whose "jihad" is no more than listening to extremists on the internet, hate him because he condemns that form of "jihad" whereby suicide bombers murder innocent noncombatants inside a masjid or elsewhere. Their activism doesn't go beyond internet forums. Nor would they ever be heard by as many as those who listen to Shaykh Hamza, even if they had the will to publicly speak the truth. Who, then, is useless?

Beauty and art in Islam are the fruits of the people of Sufism. Whether it is the art of poetry, the art of calligraphy, or the art of architecture, it is the product of Sufi hands. It is this beauty and the beauty of conduct and character that attracts non-Muslims to Islam. The enemies of Sufism produce no beauty and their conduct turns people away.
those things and people have nothing to do with sufis.

sufis are actually wasting their time, their "zikr" is just our of ignorance.

how many of the western converts are sufis or inspired by sufiasm?

the problem is now you are trying to bite bigger than your mouth is by claiming that sufism is some how all the good to Islam while their enemies (Ahle sunnah) produce nothing beautiful and their conduct turn people away?

sufis have actually been one of the reason of decline of muslims.
There are many sufis who are good muslims and are not such deviants and anti Islam as the others who sit around graves and use Islam to give a reason for their laziness.
