  • Informed opinion Vs agenda!

Everyone have their opinion about everything in the world, for example in my own village people who have never been to school and not been out of the village or town have opinions about moon landings, as one of them suggested for instance if I accept they go to the moon fine , but how do they do go to first day moon which can hardly be seen let alone someone walking on it.

But then their are informed opinions, you get information and you built your opinions about it. This is always a safe and reasonable position. There is always space for moving, as more and more information comes in.

Then there is an agenda, where you get an information, normally the first information we get and then starting pursuing an agenda. This is an extreme position a dangerous one where it is hard to go back, no matter how much the opposite argument is strong. In this case you only look for supporting material to support your agenda, and shut your to any suggestions or argument which oppose the agenda.

Unfortunately most of us on this forum is pursuing an agenda, most of the time we don't look for information and make up our mind but we already have made up our mind and look for supportive information.

That is why before you open a thread you know what it will be about more or less, when you see who is the thread poster. In my opinion stances like these make you weak, because what you believe in, any opposition or evidence against it, will put you in difficult situation, as a result you will either do personal attack or repeat yourself for the millionth time.

The more inform opinions we make the more we will help the pakhtun cause. Just a thought, just an opinion(informed? you decide).
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.

Be good, If you can't be good be lucky

I think that is a fair assessment. We all at times do this, because lets face it, we all have agendas. The fine line for me is propaganda and information. Sometimes people are tempted to take info, show it in a way to prove a point. This can helpful if there is some sound basis behind it. However it has one too many faults. People lose track of things and it becomes a norm. We get into a group think mentality and all sense is out the window.

How informed opinions is a loaded word...can an opinion ever be entirely informed? Are we not biased in our ways? Don't we have our own prejudices? I think the safest thing to say would be we should opt for an opinion that is as close to informed as we can get. We can build on it, scrap it entirely, and so on.

In terms of helping Pashtuns/Afghans. You are right, but it takes patience, proof-reading and a little tolerance. Something (even I am guilty of it) tend to forget.
Having said that we do have to establish some premise, some key foundation before you go about anything...it can be one of those relative truth debates where we get nowhere.

I don't think everyone have agenda, depending on your definition of agenda.

Also when I said informed opinion i just didn't mean loaded word i really meant informed, though i agree you can not always have the full information to have an opinion but it shouldn't be baseless either. Also the beauty of this informed opinion is that it is flexible.

We are at war in Afghanistan with invaders and their puppets and stooges, the nihilist apostates, sodomists, rapists, drug dealers and mass murderers.

People log in to PF to add insult to injury by bashing Islam and Muslims. There are others like Khyal, Osho and other Kharzai worshipers who pour salt on our wounds by praising the invaders and their opression of our people.

Most of these people are very well aware of the fact that many visitors of this forum are ignorant of the ground reality in Afghanistan. So they deliberately try to further the crusader agenda.

It is therefore an open secret that everyone has his own agenda.

I represent the conservative Muslim sentiments of Afghans. This is my agenda.

You can't expect people to be totally unbiased and neutral. People are not like that.

There were some key words in my posts, personal attack, repeatiton of words, informed opinion, agenda, and how it is related to people.

You got an agenda, have an opinion (informed? I doubt it), and you just personally attacked some other people with repeating your bantar.

My point was if you are not emotionally attached with something, it helps you to convince yourself and others.

Good thought. However we must differentiate exact sciences and other branches of knowledge like social sciences, arts, religion, philosophy etc. In the first one tehre is no difference of opinion, the second one is the name of the difference of opinion.

Every one has its own experience, environment, surroundings, education, status, exposure etc which form your personality, school of thought, ideology, religion, emotional attachments and opinion even the quality of information.

Personally I was a deeply religious person, belonging to the extremists deobandis and salafis till college times. Then I became a lover of democracy and free market economy and religiously I developed a tendency towards hanafi, sufi Islam. I dont recognize now the Osho who was few years back.

Now I admire what I like and I blame what I dislike and this I describe here and elsewhere. I dont have an agenda to gain followers or supporters bur share and learn. I personally get impressed even today from some pure religious stuff of salafis and atheists at the same time. But now my view is more towards moderation not extremes. All this is my evolution, my intelelctual development.

No one is shoving down 'extremism' down your throat, practicing Muslims on this forum are simply requesting you to understand and practice the fundamentals of Islam if you want to be a Muslim.

"Thus have We made of you a Middle Ummah, that you might be witnesses over the people, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves…" (al-Baqarah: 143)

"Say: “O People of the Book! Make no excess in your religion, trespassing beyond the truth, nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by, who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the even Way." (al-Ma’idah: 77)
O'faithful hearken thy vezir, for he promises them another Gandamak and for the ancestors of Hari Nalwa a similar fate has been sealed. We shall shake the foundations of their inner sanctums, written in gold and immortal will remain this endeavor of Afghans.

I have no problem with the fundamentals of Islam which are oneness of God, prophethood of Muhammad, salat, fast, zakat and hajj. What I dont like is the interference of Mullas and taliban in politics, economics, philosophy, social sciences, natural sciences etc. islam as a religion(faith+worship+morality) is all right but not beyond that.

the topic is having agenda or no agenda. As I discussed no body is here to promote some agenda but just to learn and share.
