A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                    Aftab means "Sun" right?
Today being Sunday too, it's entirely appropriate to be discussing the presentation!

Since he is the PF Designer, would it be possible or appropriate for him to design some verses for the overall header ?
Like we used to have the collage of the leaders, which was quite neat?

Is there some ornamental pattern - calligraphy or whatever is right - that would form a beautiful border or header in some artistic way?

I would feel inspired to see something artistic every time I open up the site.
Whatever would be wished for by the PF community.

                      Hi Catya!

The other theme named "Amanius" is still available. If you scroll down and click on the drop-down, you will see an option to switch themes. Its just that since many of our users are directly from Afghanistan and Pakistan and they still sadly have dial ups, a banner would take them forever to load the site hence the recent change.

That IS considerate for those members.

I thought the Amanius one was only the old colors.

I loved that banner: it was so cool !
Is there a list of the figures from left to right by chance?

                        P.S. I switched back, thanks !

                          You got it back.

Well, for now what you see is what I have to offer. As far as the banner goes, hopefully in the future when I settle down I can implement more changes.

Now I logged back in, and the new one is so much roomier that I really prefer it and the colors.
The old one feels squashed by comparison to this spacious format - !

YES! That would be terrific, maybe Aftab could devise a decorative pattern so we will feel uplifted but it wouldn't compromise the speed for slower systems, of which I'm sure there are many. A number of people here [in the U.S.] prefer, I guess, to remain with dial-up for various reasons.

                            Great new quotation there.

Thanks again too Aftab, let's see more of your work !
