  • A question to all PF Member.

I need your detailed answers with references please.

Whose contribution is more to the Pashto literature, lar pashtuns or bar pashtuns ?

My cousin just told me that the Pashtuns of Pakistan have more contribution to Pashto adab, and here we have more poets, books and literature than in Afghanistan.

Please mention the names of the contributors to Pashto adab in Afghanistan and the number of books written by them.

    Thanks

There was no difference in Lar and Bar Pashtuns before 1947 or before the signing of Durand line agreement. Today Pashtuns are living in the same land where they were living before Pakistan or Afghanistan. Thus this question is not relevant who contributes or contributed more to Pashto literature or Pashto language. However if still you are curious especially in the modern era then it is interesting that Today's Pakistan contributed more to Pashto literature and today's Afghanistan more to Pashto language.

This is coincidence that today's Pakistan gave to Pashto its first 10 great poets(top ten Pashto poets) like Khushal Khan, Rehman Baba, Ghani Khan, Hamza Baba, Afzal Khan Khattak, Abdul Hmaid Baba,Ajmal Khattak, Qalandar Momand, Rahmat Shah Sail, Pareshan Khattak and many others.

But the first Pashto poet Amir kror and other poets like Ahmad Shah Baba,Kabir Stori, Abdul Bari Jehani etc are from Afghanistan.

On language side as Pashto remains official language only in Afghanistan, Afghanistan has contributed a lot. Almost all Pashto linguists like Sadeeq Rishtin or Abdul Hai Habeebi are from Afghanistan. In the world of Internet(websites) Afghanistan is leading. In prose also Afghanistan is leading.

Bro, I think this is a silly question. Pashtuns are Pashtuns. There are probably people that have written in Pashto that aren't Pashtun and have enriched the language. Just my two cents.

Hallo, it's a slogan meaning "upper and lower, one pashtun", i think it is said the other way round, Lar aw Bar Yaw Pashtun.

Meaning pashtun on upper side of diagonal line and lower side of the diagonal line are one pashtun people.
The diagonal line refers to durand line.
Bar meaning upper/above, (as in Bar Kunar = upper KunaR)
            Lar meaning lower/under.

when you want a fact, the last person you should depend on is someone who has an attachment to a version of that so called truth. Let alone a personal one.
Furthermore, it's the quality rather than quantity of a thing which matters.

"To burn always with this hard gemlike flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life."
