I should perhaps hang my head in shame - since I have cooked only once or twice in my life and that too wasn't really cooking - I used a fully ready masala mix and on another occasion all the meat/veg was chopped up and prepared and all I did was mix it all up.

I did make a biryani from scratch once, except the rice was all mushy.
